Telkom F'up AGAIN!!!

On the 8th October, I called Telkom to get myself another 3GB account.
Basically because I've used the 3GB & the 30GB, so I needed to get another one.

Anyways, I just got the Telkom Online Bill now and what... R1200.
I call them to find out and guess what;

I've been charge for a 3GB account plus pro rata.

Now I have bought an account before and this didn't happen, ontop of that, I was sure to ask the guy at the time "Tebogo" that I am buying a 3GB account with 30GB local and that's all I'm buying, cause, all he said was "yes" "yes" "yes".

Now they (This lady in Acccounts @ Telkom) says that Telkom charge Pro Rata on everything.

WTF is going on here...

I've asked her to put me through to a supervisor or someone who knows what is actually going on at Telkom and now it's like the phone is dead, but I'm waiting... or I'm going to call again, I'm not letting Telkom screw me outta more money!

Called 10215 now and spoke to a lady by the name of Sharmaine, she says that they don't charge pro rata on the 3gb accounts (which makes sense)
Got cut off, then I called again and am speaking to Mbali, she is logging a dispute.

WATCH TELKOM!!! WATCH THEM CLOSELY OR THEY WILL ROB YOU BLIND!

Sometimes I wonder - Do they actually train the people working at the support desk? Is it that easy gettin a job at telkom?

Confession of an ADSL N00b.

I Filled in my application forms in August and waited 3 weeks before I went in to find out how my application was going. THEN ONLY did they tell me that I needed to pay a R700 deposit. NOBODY 'phoned me about it.

Paid the Deposit in September and a telephone line was put in. Did not know that I had to 'phone and ask for it to be converted to an ADSL line.....so I 'phone and eventuall;y get through and ask for the conversion. They say it will be 2-3 weeks before my ADSL is switched on.I wait, October comes and still no ADSL.I email Telkom twice but get no response. On Monday 12 October I get a bill for R757.91 from Telkom:they want me to pay for two months worth of
Telkom Closer Plan 2 as well as a "Service" [hahahahahaha] fee.

Yesterday [13 October] I visited a nearby Telkom Direct store along with a knowledgeable frien to try to ascertain just what the reason for the delay is.Apperently someone somewhere in the line activation cycle had held things up because they "did not realise that I had already paid my deposit in September."

gdiza :) Welcome to Telkom. When you find your line suspended because their pro-rata costs were over R1,700 and they didn't feel it necessary to give you any means of warning that you had to pay BEFORE the 18th - even though your bill says the end of the month - and they decided to suspend your like at 02:14am in the middle of an MMO... Then feel free to talk to me and we can band together and form a support group :D

Oh, and then try stewing for 6 hours until about 08:00 so that you can call someone to do something about it only to speak to one genius among men that peeves you off even further...

I love Telkom :)
 
WHY .. JUST EXPLAIN .. WHY ... DO PEOPLE STILL BOTHER TO CALL TELKOM FOR EXTRA CAP? .. WITH SO MANY ISP's WHY CALL TELKOM? ..
 
Uh... Get a 3GB cap from Telkom and you get about 6GB international (blended) use and 30GB local. That's pretty much a decision-maker for most.

This is my only reason - that an anyone who uses Newshost knows that a SAIX account is way better than a IS account.

Something uncached on SAIX is still 10x faster than something uncached on a IS account.
 
Oh, just so you all know.
Telkom Accounts called me today, they are refunding me the "pro rata" charge.

Rememeber, there is NO "pro rata" charge on the 3GB cap etc.
