Guys, seriously at the risk of p_ssing all of you off, if inflation is running at 11% and a company does not increase their prices it means you are 11% better off. I know we were all hoping for a price drop and yes, in due course I am sure it will come when the new cables are landed, but for now we need to see it for what it is. It is not what we want but it is not an inflation linked increase! Or even the inflation less 3.5% that they talk about on the ADSL segment. How can you honestly refuse to pay and petition government when a company reduces the cost of it's service by less than inflation? Did your company increase the cost of their product this year?
Yes, the one thing we can b_tch about is the need to pay the analogue line rental for ADSL. I obviously do and have never made a call... in fact I do not have a telephone attached to the line only my router! So I am p_ssing that against the wall every month. That could be a few gigs extra every month!
I also always hear talk of our salaries not going up by inflation but then what are you doing about that. Are you raising that issue with your bosses? You need to make noise for your next increase as that one should be at least 10%. A lot of people make the mistake of looking at their previous salary increase which could well have been 4 or 5%, which was what it should have been at the time, and b_tch about it not being 11%. Your bosses do not predict future inflation and raise your salary at that rate. They use the previous years inflation. Remember your salary reviews are usually annual and the inflation figure has only got out of control in the last few months...
