Telkom Internet Capped/Uncapped User Feedback (Pt2)

Well, I spent money, bought a gig from Afrihost, and my in-game latency is perfect. With Telkom, it was UTTERLY unplayable.

Feedback please. This product is really in the doldrums now. What is going on guys?
 
Well, as soon as the weekend rolled around, this went completely pear-shaped.

A speed test shows perfect latency, and max line speeds:



Actual game latency is utterly awful, and downloading a Youtube video gives:

What is going on?

We are now back to the situation where speedtest results are amazing, but the actual performance is virtually unusable.

I would very much appreciate feedback about this ASAP.

It's such a bloody hassle to cancel and change ISPs I really wish Telkom would do something. It's as if they have just gone screw it we don't care let everyone suffer.

Wow this is sad. Trying to get Drivers for my laptop ... Well been going the whole day just to download 340mb of drivers. avg speeds on my 2meg line is 7-10kb/s

Ti for the last 4 days has been fantastic for me, constantly full line speed. I actually have to tune SAB down a bit for browsing and streaming to get some line speed, youtube @ 720p without issues and any time during the day. SAB limits off and its 460kBps. Awesome, and I have about a week left until my cancellation date gets here. Just typical!!
 
We upgraded to a 10 MB line from a 4 MB both uncapped, and the speed is even slower. Every thing is slow. Looking at emails, downloads everything. This is not what we paid for and I would like some assistance as to when the speed will actually perform like a 10 MB line!

1st check what speed your router is syncing the line at, then buy a few gigs from somewhere and run speed tests. Not sure who the best isp is in regards to capped internets.
 
Speed's been fine for me for the past week. Had a few moments where I needed to reset my router to get some stability, but otherwise no real issues as such. YouTube 720p streaming is working perfectly. Http Downloads are a bit hit and miss for me though, with speeds jumping between 10-430kbps on a 4MB uncapped account.

Torrent been fine all day, but come 6 30pm diablo 3 latency was 700ms and totally unplayable
 
Streaming was piss-poor last night again.
Changed over to my Afrihost account and had no issues.

At least I know it should all be back to usual today until lets say 9pm.
 
I contacted Telkom through Facebook last week and complained about the poor speeds i was getting.
I told them i understand i have congestion at my exchange however i said i was convinced its not a line fault.
I also stated that my 4Mbps account flies on Afrihost but the Telkom ISP portion is problematic,and i do not need help with my line.

Never the less they said they are dispatching a technician.
So yesterday i got a SMS stating the problem was resolved but the downloads were still incredibly slow,unless on Afrihost, so i checked my line stats this morning and i see i was downgraded to 2Mbps!
What a useless bunch of morons, so now i get congested and shaped with a 2Mb line!
I want to pull my hairs out.
 
Don't worry. I got the exact same treatment. However, they took it a step further. They moved me to a card at the exchange which could only do 2MB so not even the call centre could bump the speed back up. Another month of back and forth and i finaly got someone helpful through TelkomZA who sorted me out. Yay for TelkomZA

Internet in South Africa is getting worst by the day!!! No, wonder EA cancelled the release of Titanfall in South Africa. EA claiming the performance rates are not as high as expected to guarantee a great gaming experience. These days any gaming in South Africa is a struggle!!! South Africa is getting behind, so far behind and we are missing out as a nation!!! Internet in South Africa only good for browsing, forget streaming and gaming!!!
