If telkom states the R799 10mb deal will not increase in price during the future , I honestly won't mind joining a contract!Exactly why I went for the deal... on a M2M as I'm paranoid of contracts with the internet :crylaugh: so if a better deal comes around I can change just can't downgrade...

Telkom consumer normally doesn't use contracts to lock customers into old pricing, but only to recover up-front costs (e.g. device or free installation).
For example, as far as I know, every free upgrade (e.g. 2 Mbps line plus 2Mbps uncapped account upgraded for free to 4Mbps line and 4Mbps uncapped account) was given to all customers regardless of contract or not etc.
