Some feedback.

Got through to Telkom this morning: SNR should be above 10db , Line Attenuation should be below 50db. Thats why they said my line is fine. Tried another port reset and alll is well again.

What speed are you supposed to be syncing at?

If it's 4mb or less, please try forcing G.dmt mode, and let me/us know how it goes?

So, to understand you correctly, my theory was correct, that G.dmt mode is more stable than ADSL2+ and I fixed your problem?

This afternoon my internet is back but the phone is still nuked! Trying to explain this to Telkom is a mission itself since the Sunday staff are very moody and unresponsive.

Heres an updated test result after MD which it seems even Ti felt it .

Quite a big improvement on the 1st test but only 50% boost on mybb test.

Usage so far for May 2015:


Really low compared to normal, because of the low speeds. Lot of disconnects, because I usually reboot the router a lot to see if it helps. Sometimes it really fixes things (rarely).

Huge improvement but still difficult to stream or download during peak hours (3pm till 10pm) Important to schedule around those hours or face some frustration.

I'll test that today and check. Downloaded some stuff yesterday at around 6pm and was going at full line speed, although it was just a 74MB WeTransfer link. I'll try with a bigger download today.
