Downloaded a 624MB file from HugeFiles.net at full line speed at around 5pm. No complaints from me.

Currently having web page problems. It connects to the ns server, ping works, email download, but web pages hangs and times out. It hangs stating waiting for response.

Throttling appears to be back to how it was a couple of weeks back.
In other words, it is bad in the evenings.
The fact that some other parts of the day might be slightly improved does not give me a functional connection when I need it most.

As long as I have to continue switching to another ISP during peak times to get the basics done, Telkom internet is not useful at all.

Will have to see if weekends are any better, but judging from the past weekend, not so much.

My discount has also disappeared this month (with zero heads-up) so the argument for Telkom is weakening by the day.

Is there way to cancel the data account without phoning ? i have tried to phone and cancel and no luck today , was on hold for 30 min both times grrr

anyone else had torrent crawling and crippled?
my speedtest shows full speed on my 4mb line... but downloads barely around 100kbps with torrents.
and hulu and netflix are crazy slow as well.

whats happening with this line?

What the hell is the story with the cancellation of the discount all of a sudden?

It started last month no discount and I created a dispute. Got refunded ,but now I see this month it happened again.

It takes at least 1 hour of holding. FACT.

After the holding, you will be asked a number of security questions to verify that you are the account holder as they will not cancel the account for anybody except the account holder.

Then after that, they tell you they will call you back to verify the cancellation. This never happens. So you get billed again. And the dispute process is another frustration machine. So you are in essence stuck with Telkom Internet.

Brilliant client retention.

April - bill was fine - discount applied correctly.
May - no discount - logged another dispute today.

Agent tells me she is not aware of Telkom specifically ending/cancelling the Do Broadband discounts...
I for one did not see/read/hear anything of that nature.

I have the same problem too. I got a call from accounts after lodging a dispute only to be told that Telkom no longer offers the discount anymore since they have completed doubling everyone's speed for free.....

Good evening everyone.

I have for a while had an uncapped telkom residential package but have recently taken on an uncapped business line at my office. When i check my usage, this is what i get. I am just a bit worried as everything is in the red with a ridiculous percetage used. But in other places it says I am still within my usage. Just dont want to face a massive bill at the end of the month

So moved to Ti after Afri which was after OW ... praying this is better :p

Do telkom have a clientzone of sorts , not much on the website and my access details dont log me in. Do they offer this functionality ?

Compared to AH's ClientZone, you've moved back into the dark ages at TI. Everything will need to be done through the call centre or the rep*

You can check your usage at adsl.telkomsa.net
and your exact usage in bytes at userstats.adsl.saix.net

*not sure if the rep is still around.

Afrihost was worse than Telkom? Usually it's the other way around.
Telkom has no online functionality other than checking usage statistics. Everything else has to be done through the reps, support@telkomsa.net or 10210.
Setting up an actual ISP account control panel would save them a hell of a lot of time and money responding to support requests, plus a LOT of complaints from customers. (hint hint)
Report back with your experience on the account :) (what speed account are you on, and what did you come from, by the way?)

I've been having a pretty good time on Telkom recently. Seems to be back to about what it was a few weeks ago (evenings are bad, but the rest is quite good).

Browsing just die for anyone else? Reset everything, still connect but no browsing, tracerts work fine, just nothing loads

Afrihost wasn't terrible but if I'm going to pay more for 2mb on AH than Ti's 4mb it better be damn impressive and it just was not anywhere near there. I do feel as if I'm running out of options now though , Twitch is hardly even loading on this new account.
