"Simple Uncapped bundle discounts have been removed from March 2014. No credit to be done after the 30/April. There will not be any discount anymore."

I have signed up for the R514 telkom simple deal beginning of the year, can they just change that to R549 p/m? Surely they can't, the agreement i signed up stipulates R514 p/m
Anyone?

Also signed up for the R514 deal. And now paying R550. Yes, they can just do it. That is why, I cancelled (or at least one of the many reasons) the TI part of the deal and moving somewhere else. Refuse to voluntary give this bunch of thieving scum my hard earned money when there are alternatives.

I'm still getting the discount strangely enough; not that I can even use the account for anything other than nzb.

Since the 4mb uncapped TI account is R 249 p/m and the only other viable uncapped option I am remotely willing to consider is Afrihost @ R 397 p/m, I figure that keeping the TI for day/throttled use, get 60GB capped/unthrottled Afrihost data for R129 and still have R 19 change. 'Best of Both' or the 'better of two evils'.

What I believe would be an even better option depending on how TI behaves over the next weeks is to drop the uncapped option and go AH capped for all I'm worth.
I'd rather have 100-150gb unthrottled than 'uncapped', yet throttled to the point where I cannot even get to 50gb no matter how hard I try.

Go for a lower capped offer, you'll get double data on Afrihost.
It's what I've done.

Got this sms now I asume is from Telkom
Gooday
A price increase took place on all our uncapped offers> these prices were not adjusted on the 1st December due to a technical error. The changes have now been made effective from the March invoice. Please note that all websites were updated on 1 December 2013 with all the new uncapped prices therefore there is no longer a monthly discount. Also because because of the increase in speed.

The **** are these ****s up to now???? If I open µtorrent, everything shuts down and I can't access anything an any machine. µtorrent still uploads, but nothing downloads on any protocol on any machine. Only happens at in the evenings. Has anyone else experienced this? Must I log a fault? Report it to the toothless watchdog, ICASA?

Telkom never fails to piss me off.

This internet service is incessantly terrible. I think local cap was a better service back in the day. It's really unfortunate that international is so inconsistent and slow. Local is just fine and dandy...

Well tomorrow I am going to the Telkom store here in our Mall.

Hopefully I get to cancel my internet portion with a easy and painless process. I for one was patient and gave Telkom Internet ample time to sort their network out. All I can say is Ranger and TelkomZA, your silence on these forums since the sparks hit are amazing. You guys come here once every month and tell us nice stories about upgrades that were done and yet it does not last (or not in Western Cape area for that matter).

I do believe TelkomZA and Ranger only say what they are permitted by powers above them but enough is enough.

Goodbye Telkom Internet

Does anybody from TI ever respond to emails sent to this email address?
Nearly all the time. Usually get a phone call within a day or so regarding the issue. It's better for things like line problems where they can actually help, not for exchange congestion or IPC capacity issues.

No
They double bill you when you join.
I... Think... That's false?

The everything dead despite connected problem reared its head again.
Do other devices/ISPs work?
Try setting up a PPPoE connection in Network and Sharing Centre (assuming Windows)? I have a problem where my WiFi adapter doesn't like using the router's PPPoE connection, so it has to be done on my PC too. Everything else connects just fine

Everything at a total stand-still with Telkom uncapped. Browsing, torrents, etc. dead. Afrihost capped account has no problem.

A guy came to fix the wires on the pole. When he's finished, our phone stopped working, so I took it down to the local Telkom shop where they declared it perfect. A week later another techie arrives and we could see him changing the box on the pole. Did you fix it? Nah, he says, just tested it and it's fine. Checked the phone - working again! I have to say Telkom okes are something else!

On Telkom uncapped 4Mbps. Don't do Torrents, but do streaming & direct downloading.
I tried to watch some streaming sport over the week end - it buffered like hell
Netflix the same.
Got so fed up I signed up with WebAfrica for a capped account - was streaming without issues!
So there - f off Telkom I'm leaving.
