Telkom Internet Capped/Uncapped User Feedback (Pt2)

But to get the discount in the first place one had to commit to staying with TI for 12 months - which I did, all telephonically via 10210. That was the only proviso for getting the bundle discount.

I've been getting it for 9 months already and it's still active as you can see. That's what is listed as the "contract" - the bundle discount agreement.

Telkom doesn't make anything simple, do they?

I'm guessing that it's linked to the contract you have. My discount that fell away was called "DO Uncapped Premium Plus Bundle".

Telkom is mighty confused. First all my discounts were removed, Bundled discount and the 12month contract line discount. Then I called and logged an incident, 2 days later accounts calls me only to tell me that since the free line upgrades Telkom no longer offer any discounts.
I get my new bill and low and behold the bundled discount is back after being missing for a month, still no 25% line discount tho.
But I'm not even gonna call them I'm gonna just leave it at that. R600 for 4MB all inclusive is a nice saving :D

Is anyone else's line going up and down and up and down?

Got a blistering 49kb/s off my 4mb line last night.
Crazy erratic and has been for months.

Afraid to complain on the forums because Ranger will tell me to leave.
I just log a fault via Telkom's site and get a CRK number. Two days later the call gets closed and I'll get maybe 3mb speeds for a little while.

Yes, just leave.
I did.

No amount of sweet talking will change my experience in the last few months.
Having to pay for 2 isp is not my idea of a good experience.

And then everyone comments on how well there line is doing and I think I've made a mistake.
I switched over to my TI uncapped and wam, same old ****.

It's unfortunate as my line performed so well just after the free upgrade.

Is a quiet thread an indication that things are good, or that people have got tired of complaining and moved on

Suspect this to be the case, TI aren't going to respond to what they regard as "niche" issues - VoD, games latency etc. I was optimistic that something would come of Telkoms talks with Netflix but that fell by the wayside :(

Still, for my purposes, TI 10MB uncapped is ideal and I'm very happy with the performance :)

I'm on 4MB and the last 3-4months I haven't had any issues at all as far as I can remember. Right now Ti is working well both on the downloads and streaming front.
I'm gonna give Crystal Web a try probably in July but I'm not gonna cancel my Ti account as I'm not sure how they will fair during business hours. I need a working connection during the day when I'm home, with Ti I get just that.

Its sad that my experience is not consistent with others, some of my mates have moved becoz of the poor speeds/latency etc. :(

Likewise but only when their site goes live and I can see the ToC's.

I'm always interested in capped backup accounts and have to say that Afrihost/axxess capped accounts are no better than my TI uncapped during business hours, it'll be interesting to see what CW can do.
