Telkom Internet Capped/Uncapped User Feedback (Pt2)

My line is so unstable today, on & off, can't even browse, when is Telkom gonna sort out this problem!!!!
 
Telkom internet in the western cape has been terrible for the past two days. :sick:

I actually dont know what a 10meg line does was told The Exchange is 10Meg but the mini DSLAM I am on is only up to 4Meg

woke up this morning AND its still fast Still Downloading Documentarys From YouTube 700KB/s
NetWorx Brilliant Program .

Now doing Avrage 682KB/s ,,,780 KB/ps

Also have my Son playing online Games on XBoxLive and Watching YouTube Normaly he comes to ask me WHAT are you Downloading Cant Play or watch ...

For me bad experience of the weekday evening throttling of international HTTP downloads has changed from evenings only to being the whole day. (Gauteng)

Telkom can't force us to eat McDonalds(Youtube) 3 meals a day. You might be happy with this arrangement but that type of internet diet is rather unbalanced and not the norm.

PMB not looking too great either (PMB also runs through the Durban IPC, I believe). Internaional is horrible, but local is decent. YouTube 720p isn't streaming smoothly, and Twitch is buffering at mobile quality.
 
I'm considering moving across to TI.

and this has probably been asked before but... what are the thresholds for 2 & 4 meg uncapped before they start throttling you?

I've done 100GB and not been throttled, although my average is 50GB per month.

Some have claimed they're throttled at around 80GB.

You might want to hold back changing for now until they fix some major network problems. Telkom offers a great service for a very good price though for ages now they have been having intermittent network issues. So unless you're on a terrible ISP right now, I'd suggest you don't change for at least a month.

A mate on 2mbps does 80GB-90GB then can't do a thing on the web. On 4mbps, I do on average 180GB~220GB without getting throttled.
