Saix news server is barely even crawling...torrents are non-existent (can't even connect to peers). Can't even connect to any ftp servers (hetzner) for work. Can't stream twitch.tv. Can't watch Youtube videos without it buffering every few minutes.

If this is not sorted next week I'm moving. I've stuck with Telkom Internet for years and have never had my connection perform as bad as this. Beyond disappointing.

Just upgraded to 1meg uncapped After I found I cant go on Youtube with Soft Cap.

It's official, my 14.4 modem was faster. You'd think they be competent enough to announce something.

moved from 10GB 2Mb account to uncapped last week and its been frustrating to say the least, I now have to resort to using my N8 as modem to be able to right this comment, epic fail on eishkom uncapped service, To add insult to injury they send me a bill for feb and march for uncapped services on one invoice. How can they charge double for no services rendered blady leaches. Helkom expect a visit from me tomorrow its refund time....

I had bits and pieces of different invoices on my most recent one. I'm still trying to make sense of it They're clearly using primates in their billing department.

Im afraid this is looking pretty bad for p2p. Nntp-dead, torrents-dead, browsing and youtube but not hd ok.

I assume these new pricing was developed for the browsing community and not for p2p. Its definately not worth the savings. I average about between 40-60 gigs a month and the way this going is not working out.

Luckily im on month to month so ill wait it till end of march.

Still can't connect to MW3 or Black Ops 2 via PS3. HAve tried Port Forwarding and DMZ mode. Have no issues with other account to connect.

All updates done via wireless from Google Playstore (Android) fail with error 495

YouTube: 240p only or it starts to buffer

Supersport streaming: No stutter, but low quality graphics.

Browsing: Okay

@RoMark - your issues are backhaul congestion related.

Thx Mickey, not sure how the congestion thing works. Is it limited to an ISP, Telkom in this case?

I can connect to the COD servers at will with other ISP's.

Speedtest via PS3 shows 3.2 Mbps dl and up is 328 Mbps with a spare account, compared to 0.7 Mbps dl and 128Mbps via my default account.

I could also connect to the COD servers with my capped account previously, now I can't. Actually I could connect with the uncapped account till about Wednesday. From Thursday the COD problem cropt up.

I had no problems connecting via wireless and do updates on my cell phone. Now I keep on getting error code 495 on any update I try. This also was working till Wednesday.


I have a friend in Uitenhage (capped account)that since Thursday can't connect to the COD servers on a regurlar basis.

I'm posting all these posts and details hoping to help myself and others, not to critize.

My latency has improved a lot with the move Telkom made and I'm very grateful for that.

@RoMark - your link from Kirkwood to the outside world routes via Uitenhage... Uitenhage is not a problem.

I still can't download from saix news server. Http downloads crawl.
International browsing is a massive pain, very slow.
Plenty timeouts to battle log and I lag like a biatch when playing on local BF3 servers.

My afrihost and webafrica accounts fly. To sum it up, biggest crap uncapped I ever had.

Telkom says no problem with my line.

Telkom ISP says no problems....but they'll try a port reset.

And I sit here getting BYTES per second.
