Here is the relevant section:

3.1 TelkomInternet Uncapped Fair Usage Policy

All TelkomInternet Uncapped accounts is shaped bandwidth based and provides unlimited data usage, however we do manage uncapped accounts on the performance of our network at any given time.

We monitor our overall network usage and if our data pool capacity is stretched we dynamically shape and throttle certain customer's uncapped accounts to relieve congestion. These uncapped customers will be chosen based on their usage trends. The uncapped users who have used the highest amount of data will be throttled first if there is network congestion and/or impairment.

It is our goal to ensure the best possible experience for both the high data usage and lower data usage customers given the parameters we have and as such we reserve the right to manage Uncapped ADSL accounts as we deem necessary to ensure optimal performance across our network for all of our customers.

I'm quite happy with this FUP. It should be quite a while before they apply it as most of the heavy users are MWeb and OpenWeb fanbois and won't touch Telkom with a barge pole!
 
Yes i agree (not about your age :D), i think we will see a nice spread out of users, those who are comfortable with Ti's network will use it and others will stay until their hand is forced to move.

Seems uncapped is reaching a good balance now :).

Don't know if you saw White's tweet but when they asked about 500GB downloaded, White said that it is excessive however they won't cut the user off. This is something that doesn't get told often if not never to the users. So i believe that means one is guaranteed a 500GB on the higher speed account :p.

Anybody know where we can get more detail on the 4Mbps option?

What info you looking for?

If you goto Telkomsa.net > > Our products > Access Services > Uncapped. There is info on there.

They have said the 4MB account is aimed at Business users, unless you are one rather wait until an announcement is made regarding one aimed at home users :). They said it wasn't ready yet but we want to see the price :p.

Yes, I saw that. My family's needs does not exceed 150Gb/m. What makes it better for me (over AH) is the daytime throttling (i.s.o. total shaping on DL's).
 
They seem to have a much more friendly AUP than the other providers.

Also my so called 2Mbps iBurst modem never gives better than an average of .7 Mbps at night and by day its worthless.

The package requires a contract if you combine with closer 3.

I run an accounting business from home and the whole package is just perfect for me.

Actually it's the "free" modem that creates the requirement for a 24 mth contract. You pay the same on month to month if you purchase the modem up front or supply your own.

Performs perfectly for my needs. My gf plays wow and using a lower ping service like we always have, we get 210-250ms. I downgraded my line to a 1mbps because they automatically assigned the 4mbps to my account and im not paying 2k for the internet. Either way my 1mbp performance seems better than my 4mbps line.

So all in all i would say its a very good product at this point, thou telkom support is still beyond useless.

Please clarify this for us, are you saying Telkom will not provide 1Mb uncapped on a >=4Mb line?
 
They should be able to since the RAGE special was a 1MB uncapped account on a 4MB./10MB account. Its possible they were taking a chance and expecting semaphore to cough up the extra but semaphore is more clever :).

10 pm to 6 am --No restrictions apply
