I seem to be flying this afternoon. GW2 a bit laggy but that's probably because of my 100% line speed LibreOffice download. How are you guys doing?

Edit: Ok, download finished and it's still a bit laggy, but a lot better than yesterday. Will see what happens when this big event starts and lots of people are running around.

Edit 2: I take it back, terrible lag.

250GB (4Mb Line speed, but on 10Mb package)

Hmmmm
I'm have the same setup. Haven't had the guts to phone Telkom to remove the 10Mbps package and I might jump ship to another ISP, then I will need that extra bucks for the new account anyhow.

I've done about 215GB if I recall correctly and shows just past quarter on titracker.

My gaming experience on consoles are pretty ****ty.
My http downloads max about 240kB/s.
So below par, but not totally useless.
YouTube streaming seems to be okay.
Not sure about torrent speeds., but my stuff are scheduled for 00:00 and it is available next morning.
Don't do the streaming thing.

Speedtests in evenings are ****: 540kbps down and about 280kbps up.
Same time my backup account gives me about 3.1Mbps down and 0.390Mbps up

30 day countdown no ?

No. YOu have to call cancellations, they then schedule for a consultant to call you back to confirm the cancellation. Tell the consultant that the service is not working, and that you are not on a contract. They cancel within 30 min. Busy cruisin on another ISP as we speak. Oh and they offer you that 25% reduction on line cost which is nice.

Interesting, so it's the guys on contract (I'm guessing free modem, installation?) that this 30 day cancellation story applies to and the instantaneous cut-off still applies to old/non-freebie TI clients.

As of 22 Jan, 108GB on a 4MB line, but a lot of that was terribly, terribly laggy. Testing every day now using PPPoE, relying on my Afrihost Business account to pull me through until Friday.

Number and option to select ? Surely not 10210 [option 4] ... was told cancellation takes 30 days and given a ref. number, and to expect a call from cancellations. When I offered to call them directly was told they don't have a direct number.

This despite stating it hadn't worked since 5 Jan and I wanted to lodge a dispute for refund.

The smoke and mirrors trying to stop a consumer from leaving are crazy.

Guess some consultants will blatantly lie to your face to keep your from leaving.

Called again and told them to cancel immediately as I am not a contract customer, nor is the service working.

Consultant tried the same old run-around of 30 days, I told her others had cancelled based on the above on the same day and that in terms of the CPA they had to oblidge.

Silence on the other side of the line. I then remembered my favourite telkom word "escalate" and asked if she would be so kind as to do that for my pending cancellation.

Boom. Will be called back within 24 hours so here's hoping.

Wow, another day and another night without Netflix!!! My normal browsing is terrible, take ages to open any international website. This is really weak Telkom, super weak!!! Was hoping the service would be restored by tomorrow, does not look like it, will cancel tomorrow and move to a new ISP!!!

Almost three weeks and still can't do anything on YouTube. Not even bothering with the retards in the call center anymore. I'll probably get that YouTube is an international site, and I shouldn't expect it to work because I only have a 10mb account which costs hundreds of rands.

Hi guys, I had a Telkom tech over at my place to see why I can only ever get 1.7mbs on Speedtest. When he heard I get 1.7, he said that's perfectly normal and left.

How do I go about reporting a congested exchange?

If you have a 2Meg line 1.7 is normal.

Check what speed your router is syncing at and post a trace route. If yr first 3 or 4 hops are sub 30ms then your exchange is fine.
