*hangs head in shame*

On the flip side: Hell bud - that's an awesome speedtest result ! Whoa ! Go Telkom ! (because we all need speedtest to work as opposed to doing real life things on the interwebz)

If you have a 2Meg line 1.7 is normal.

What are their terms? Is 1.4 accepted for a 2meg line? Because thats what I get. So my speed limits are around 170-180kbps when using something a service which they don't shape.

1.4 is a bit low, should probably be more in the region of 1.7. The rest are overheads.

I would definitely try another ISP as well and see what sort of throughput you're getting. You will most likely however, find that you are being screwed over by your existing ISP.

According to this services have been restored, unless I'm reading it wrong. Well that **** nut must come try to use my line then please!
Further more, nothing of the sort has been communicated to me.

For sure. I'd love for them to come and test my line and see if Hulu and Netlix are running at optimal speed again. Couldn't even watch a 20 minute video on low res last night without it buffering (literally) every 2 minutes.

Hey guys, so I had a 8mb line on a 4mb Uncapped. Yesterday I noticed that my line is now syncing at 10. I decided to try my capped Afrihost account with it, and I literally do not see any difference to my 4mb account. After a dozen speedtests I might see 5mb, but nothing higher.

I never saw 8 either. My line stats are okay as far as I can tell. What could the issue be?

Line stats
Upstream Downstream
Current Rate (Kbps) 1020 10012
Max Rate (Kbps) 1124 23324
SNR Margin (dB) 9.4 25
Line Attenuation (dB) 12.1 28.3
Errors (Pkts) 0 0

So has anyone managed a successful dispute for this poor services rendered by Telkom? I feel I have to open a dispute for this poor performance and request discount from my monthly bill?

“Telkom Wholesale delivered the additional international bandwidth on 22 January 2014 within their Service Level Agreement for the order,” Telkom said.

Telkom added that they have communicated the restoration of their service to their customers.

They have?

I just spoke to a very helpful lady at 10210, and I explained that I am unable to watch Netflix on my TI account at all and this is the main reason for me having an ADSL account, and therefore I need the account cancelled immediately so that I can move to another ISP. She obliged and my TI account is no more. In short the 30 Days notice story is utter BS and can be gotten out of.

Must be run by the ANC... same lies,

I am quite curious why the official reps have been so silent. There's has to be some sort of gag order, or something. I can, I suppose, understand the silence while there was no answer to be given, but how can they claim that we have been informed, when the same site that publishes the article has not had an official response from the reps in the official feedback thread? :wtf:

different times of the day?

Since this problem started, this time of day would never work correctly. Early mornings would sometimes be allright, if at all.

I've been testing just about every day since this began, this is a first.

In that case, good signs then :)
