eWas unuseable for me most of the weekend in PE, except for Saturday morning.

Hulu and streaming protocols non existant, Spotify and Rdio were a no go, however, NNTP is flying at full line speed.

On Afrihost, everything is flying.

So it's priority based shaping, and unlike Electric, I guess my account is allocated to a different pool of users whose accounts are heavily shaped.

There is no other explanation.

If it's working for you on all protocols, that's great.

For the masses, it's pretty broken.

Actually I doubt that, the majority of TI clients are either businesses or Mom & Pop browsing, emailing, skypeing etc. It's these economies of scale that keep TI profitable whilst undercutting MWeb.

Won't surprise me to see some account differentiation other than capped/uncapped, residential/business to cater for the burgeoning IPTV users in the near future.

Judging by the decrease in complaints I'd say its working better for most people.

My Ti has been great from last week till now. Actually getting 50-75% on torrents during the day.
Currently catching up on some episodes via xbmc n not a buffer or glitch the last hour n a half.

My TI 4Mbps line

Not TI

I am happy for the seemingly improvement in latency. Not sure if it carries over to the world of gaming, but would be super impressed if it does.

It's sad if that screenshot is supposed to make us happy :/ It's like someone saying "well John isn't good-looking or rich or anything, but at least he's still got his teeth."

I'm not happy at all. In fact I'm damn right pissed off.
The comparison is to view the difference in speed by two different ISPs.

I am glad for the latency improvement from Telkom's side. I game every day and I posted several speed tests where latency were between 500 and 800ms.

I'm a host for online races though and I need my download AND especially upload speed to run correctly and apparently complaints are diminishing and that seems to indicate that problems are resolved.
well I will then post till my issues are resolved.

No, I know. Hence the sarcasm in my comment :p I'm with you on this one.
Hell, you got me to smile.
Thx for that.
Sorry, was to angry to pick up the sarcasm.

Only realized how worked up I was when I read your comment.

I'm smiling

Lol :p The quote was attributed to Telkom talking about their network (who, in this case, was "John").

Well, my router just lost sync and when it came back the one positive thing for me, has also disappeared.
Local latency was 20 to Cape Town. Now it is 40 ms and international was 170ms and is now 223ms.

Edit:
and getting worse.

Cool story bro.

Happy for 'ya !

Glad it's fixed your side. Not sure how you conclude it's working better for most. You been reading the same thread since 5 Jan when they swtiched off the lights ?

Glad NNTP is back to full 10Mbps line speed, but why should other protocols be nearly non-existant ?

When I joined in July this was an excellent product.

I had positive things to say.

Since late last year it has gone from bad to worse.

And all the while my Afrihost backup account has given 110% performance.

Something is not right.

FTS.

I can't seem to matchmake (EU servers) at all in CS:GO at the moment on telkom (cannot find a server with low enough ping (<350 which is the highest I can set it)), if I switch to my backup account I find a match instantly.
