If you look at the number of bad speed posts the first 2/3 weeks of Jan and compare to the last week there is a drop. I think this thread must have gained 100 pages in those 2/3 weeks.
Its either that or people got tired of complaining.

Or they were on holiday and now they're back at work so have less time on their hands. Coupled with being tired of complaining as you pointed out, imo things haven't improved and they might have actually got worse.

If that was my speedtest result I would be voting with my wallet and moving. I was giving Ti till the end of Jan to shape up or I was shipping out.
I feel no affliation to any ISP and if I'm not happy with the service I will move.
I've done it before and I'll probably do it again.

Things with Ti had been good during the last year I been with them and never had any issues till recently.

But I'll stop posting the good news, like Electric, because it appears to frustrate some.

1) I cancelled today, still have to use the service until end of Feb though.
2) I dont think anyone doubts or is frustrated by your personal good news or that of Electrics. I think we just get a little frustrated when you say the majority is running fine.

My apologises for frustrating you guys. My assumption that things are good for most people might have been premature and incorrectly based on the number of bad posts of late.

I still think the problem is regional/area, why else are some of us now getting decent throughput.
I too had crap international from the start of the year yet its fine now.
How is it that its ""fixed" for some but not all?

Right now we all, myself included, just plucky at straws trying to guess whats the problem.

Maybe the routing and additional bandwidth must be reconfigured? We all know that takes time to get right. Maybe some of the areas are in the right ball park, like where you, the PE guys, etc are.
The problem is that we are not getting feedback to keep us in the loop, so we don't know and are guessing and speculating. In the meantime we are getting rumours that things that things are fixed, which is BS.

This is information I am providing for the rep, will link this post in my PM.

I have provided both Diablo 3 and Path of Exile (both EU) to demonstrate the issue is not just with one game in particular.

Local speedtest:

International speedtest:

Alternative test account (a 2Mpbs capped account from another ISP):

Most importantly, I would like to point out the latency to PoE with this alternative account:

vqNQDPM.png

It's A) very low, and B) not at all jittery, unlike Telkom's effort.

***

Aside from game latency during this crisis (and a crisis it is, on many levels), my general experience has been somewhat improved, but it is very erratic - Sometimes I will get 30/50 Kb/s on sites where in the past I have easily maxed out my line (HTTP). Why? What is going on? As my speedtest indicates, the line is fine locally, and goes to a ball of **** as soon as it crosses the ocean.

Youtube is mostly better, as far as I can tell.

My main bugbear however is game latency (and my very erratic download performance a close second) - I've sent swathes of information to you guys and since this nightmare began, there has not been the suggestion that anything at all has actually been done about it, and I have received no feedback, aside from the intermittent 'we think a fix may have been implemented, please try again'.

***

Also, torrents are not good. Last time I left a well seeded torrent overnight it spiked to max speed for a little while and then died down to a trickle for the remainder of the period between 12 and 6 AM.

***

Right. I'm about done with this. I'd like things to be fixed, but I really need it to happen soon. If there is an intractable problem somewhere that is being feverishly worked on, please inform me and everyone else who is seething in frustration.

If not, I will never in my life recommend this ISP to anyone (and I have before to many, which is a bit embarrassing now, given how this situation has turned out), and will disengage myself from the service as soon as possible, and recommend the same to anyone who might be using it.

Thanks.

*edit*

I forgot to mention, my ping to PoE is sometimes okay in the wee hours of the morning, around dawn. As soon as the day opens for business though - ****ed again.

*edit*

Please check my posts one or two down below this, please.

Battled to do my daily in Guildwars 2 - skill lag - so bad - only took 5-6 seconds to kill a rabbit, a creature that has minimal health - normally a one hit kill instantly - this morning the bunnies suffered all of 5-6 seconds ... :(

Look at these download speeds:

3tbljG5.png

Not too bad, eh?

Well, first, they are higher than normal only because it's 8 AM, but more importantly, they are frozen and not going anywhere. I've been trying to get these two files down for over a week now, no dice...

Here's what my latency looks like in the morning:

I shall demonstrate later what happens to it...

Well, the download I posted doesn't actually... download. It just gets stuck at some stage.
