What device? On some one can add more than two. Belly up dns is really bad, it should simply have used the other one.

It would have had it not been an outdated secondary DNS. I've switched from cpt to jnb now for the primary and entered a new non-dynamic European DNS as a secondary.

Im perfectly fine also hey...

Done about 210 Gigs so far, on a 4meg line, and that's double what i normally do in a month, been building up my series abit, and downloading a **** load of 3D movies.

5....

Been klapping it since last week, catching up on all the Linux Distros I couldn't get because my International was k@k.

Been surprised even my torrents have been running very well :D

It was going so well, and then the 19:00 phenomenon:

Download Speed: 337 kbps (42.1 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 87 kbps (10.9 KB/sec transfer rate)
Latency: 1017 ms

Perhaps that's why most of this country's internet is screwed. People are "klapping" torrents on a temporary IPC.

Pretty sure I'm routing through hell again (through the middle east/south east asia).

NOPE I'M ROUTING THROUGH THE UNITED ARAB EMIRATES. DOES THE DATA GET TRANSFERRED THROUGH OIL PIPES?

Hi Giggity,

I only used torrents as a reference. I did a few tests and pulling a torrent or 2 was part of it.
I use NNTP(nzb) to get most of my content, I find it to to be alot more stable and I get line speed pretty much all day, everyday.

EDIT: I cant see how my "klapping" via Durbans IPC has any impact on people going through Cape Towns IPC anyhow...

Ok, well as long as you aren't klapping the poor "linux distros" ;)
I think that all of the data has been running via the CT IPC for a while now -- or for me anyways; all tracerts go through the CT, and the pings add up. Goes PMB -> Pinetown -> Durban -> Rosebank -> Pretoria -> CT -> international. The main Durban IPC links are Seacom and EASSy, Telkom uses WACS/SAT3 mainly as far as I know.

EDIT: Does anyone know when SACS/WASACE are going to be finished/if they are finished? Those things hold 80terabits/s total, and run directly to Central America... Seems like international streaming would become cheaper and latency would become better :)

But there's always new distros, every week there's a new episode :p

I'm not sure on Telkoms routing for Durban, I'm just happy that my interwebs is working well again.

Your from PMB, surely we should be using the same routing right?

675ms in an ARAM (League of Legends) with a friend. He has the same ping on Telkom too. Gotta say I'm impressed they screwed up everything this bad.

Come on Telkom WTF is going on here?
I give up. Going to jump ship as Netflix wont work on TI, but works perfectly on Afrihost and FNB.
NNTP only running at 300mb/s on a 10meg line. Come midnight it jumps back to full line speed.

Just got a call by customer relations and customer service

They offered me a 12month deal and within the deal they cut my fees (dsl line rental and 4meg uncapped) by 25% bringing total 4meg price + line to about R550pm all incl

I declined and said I am not a fan of contracts as I am a student and the very notion of me having dependable income is absurd for me at the moment.

So 28th Feb please come!!

You should take the line portion discount, as you keep your line with telkom anyway and never let another ISP manage it. Just don't do it on the data.
