Did you query it? Does not sound right.

Spent more than 40 minutes on the phone with them. Then the guy wanted to tell me that it is a problem with the DSLAM (while I can connect with my mobidial) and that it is a Telkom fault and not a TI fault...

Hallo ... TI Tracker is letting me access my uncapped account out today (sort of):

TI-Tracker.png

Taken literally (not advisable with Telkom :)) this means that there is no magic number for GBs used ... other factors must also be contributing to soft-capping.

That new message not too confuse cap and uncap, I think they still rely on cumalitve data to enforce some sort of soft capping. Im nearing 120gigs and everything still normal, nntp full speed (and office hours), no youtube buffering etc. Don't do online gaming so cant comment on latency.

Thats a good deal, got a cheapie from game.

Back on topic, 2Mbps Ti uncapped still running full speed, got a 7gig Nzb running from supernews, youtube still ok with no buffering, also streaming from supersport without problems. Currently sitting at 140gigs without any soft capping.

Like I said if the 200gigs are anything to go by for 2 Mbps I'm a happy customer.:)

I'm up to almost 300GB on a 4Mb line and it's been plain sailing so I'm happy to stay with TI uncapped for the time being.

Should add that I've had uncapped from three ISP's in total moving about the same GBs per month and never had a problem (except for the axxess move to the MTN backbone :() so I guess my downloading patterns are considered acceptable.

How the hell does TI handle the soft-cap. I was capped around 80Gb already on my 1Mb line...... Monthly downloads before that average about 60 to 110Gb...

Seems like we will never get the exact details of how this works from TI

Yip, wish to say -getting full 4mb Uncapped speed again- after 13 days of softcap. :D

Though I do feel I should mention, even with the great speed, Guild Wars 2 is still laggy and I'm not sure why, the Guild Wars games use very little bandwidth.

Yep - Same Here
Wonder if the tracker resets last day of the month, or is this full speed access counting toward next months soft cap?

just switched to Telkom DSL from openweb today. My ping is now 280 - 310 ms to Cape Town. I live in the center of Cape Town. My ping was 18ms with openweb. This is not normal I take it?
