Like I said though I have several Dl and uploads going atm.

Will check later again.

Edit:
@Nicci
No dl or UL running and still rubbish.

For some reason it defaults to Umhlanga

This is the stats when I select Cape Town

Did a reboot of the router:

Where do you set the email address for these Telkom notifications? I've received nothing from them since I joined TI uncapped sometime last year. My Telkom bill etc arrives at my GMail addy, would have thought they would send it to the same one?

If you are referring to the usage, they have abandoned that system for uncapped.

You need to look here for usage.
Login with your username and password. The same one that is in your router.

Not usage, general emails or announcements from TI that some other people seem to get.
Ah okay.
Mine goes to all of my @telkomsa.net addresses. I'm referring to announcements in general. I haven't received any warning or abuse letters from Telkom.

Just read this on another forum.
He claims he is on a 1Mbps package?

Users whose usage in March was deemed to be detrimental to our customer base have been notified of this, and that their service will be degraded if their behaviour persists.

No limits were mentioned in the mail.

No users who used 50GB in March would have received a notification.

The tracker tool will be updated this week to give an indication of how far you are from having your service being degraded.

I am having terrible speeds since moving to TI :( I don't know what to do.

I had the same or similar problem then I called the telkom helpdesk and they sent a technician out and he did something at the exchange and it was sorted. I asked him what was wrong and he just said its was wiring

Anyone using do Uncapped Premium(4mb bundle) for Hulu+ and/or Netflix? Just want to know if its worth getting the Telkom bundle vs other ISP bundles specifically for streaming? ;)

Ps. Will I be able to stream 720p on this bundle?

I dont think the 4mb is the way to go, yes it will work but your browser will buffer most of the time as this take a lot of bandwidth. The option you should look at is 10mb uncapped and you can stream 1080p movies / videos flawlessly

@ranger - any plans for telkom to release a "line tool" similar to that of Afrihost / Web Africa?

Thanks for the reply W.Salie

I've heard bad things of browser watching due to Silverlight. I plan to buy a Western Digital TV live as I heard it is strides better in streaming over other devices. I don't need more than 720p for now. Will I be able to achieve 720p without buffering on a 4mb bundle and a WD TV live? :(

I'm able to stream SD Netflix to 2x TV's (1x WDTV Live, 1x PS3) and watch via the Silverlight web on another computer at the same time using a 4MB uncapped Telkom acct.

So I would assume 1x 720p shouldn't be an issue..

I can stream 1080p on YouTube no problem and I get HD Netflix just as easily... On Telkom 4mbps

There's some politics involved, but we hope to make it available during the coming year. We obviously have some other priorities (such as tracker, and some other features that didn't make it through our upgrade yet).

(Of course, though Afrihost seems to love blowing their own horn, making it seem as if they did a lot of work on making their tool, despite Telkom's incompetence, this has actually become possible due to Telkom Wholesale recently launching an API for ADSL line resellers, that exposes all the functions - such as the 'make my ADSL line as fast as it can be stable' feature).
