310 GB from saix stats on a 4 meg line.

I have you as having done 390GB on a 2Mbps uncapped account ... which I think is reasonable.

If you did a similar amount in March, you should have received an email warning that your usage was excessive (if we have your email address).

seriously... Im on a 10MB uncapped and guess what Im getting worse speeds I used to get 5 years ago when I was on a 384kbps package. This is my first month with TI and im not impressed at all. Im not sure what everyone was raving about

If this the kind of speeds im going to be getting then I guess im going to have to jump ship

Well, I don't see you having provided much detail on your problems.

We have a challenge with the Cape Town site, the biggest one being that we don't have staff in our team in a region served by that site (well, we do have one member now, but he started this month, and doesn't have a line at home yet), so it is sometimes challenging to measure experience (ourselves, asking favours from other teams doesn't necessarily work well), especially considering some of the tools we had planned to put in have been delayed. But, from the monitoring we do have in place, there shouldn't be problems (unless our friends at wholesale made a typo somewhere).

Our experience with a 10Mbps uncapped account in the office in Gauteng is great, and we are committed to getting it right in the Cape Town site (but, some of the upgrades that are in progress will take a few more weeks).

Can you PM me your username, so we can just check some things on our side?

I get what you saying about it getting better but why should I stay with TI in the interim when I can get the same or similar package for about the same price and get better speeds and service from my ISP.

I don't believe you can get a similar package at the same price (assuming things are working as they are supposed to), but I could be wrong.

Hi Ranger

Are we supposed to get an email about excessive usage before the line gets throttled?
Is it emailed to the Telkom email account?

My line dropped from 1.7Mbps to 0.38Mbps this morning and it's been like that all day.
Will this continue till the end of the month?

Thanks for the feedback. I assume you adding download to upload. However amount is irrelevant to me and I accept I'm a heavy user who will be penalised.

Unhappy about the line being unusable for basic stuff. I can accept shaping but slowing a 4 meg line to 0.5 meg and than making the line unusable is rubbish also afrihost tested line and saying line is unstable with random disconnects(no clue what that means). I upgraded to 4 meg but been getting 2 meg speeds which never went above 210 kB/s ( about 1 week ago 11/04/2013). Fault was logged but no response for 5 days. Basically everything was perfect till I decided to upgrade to 4 meg than everything went pear shaped. In your previous post you say I should be slowed to 1 meg on 2 meg account so why is is speed consistently 0.5 meg? also Im on 4 meg uncapped so why Am I slowed to 0.5 meg?

Technical support says line syncs at 10 meg and have tried changing it from 6 /8 / 10 meg to no avail.

I could run more speedtests but they take forever to run on my problematic line. Takes like 4/5 min to run one test.

Please note before upgrade line was perfect 2 meg uncapped line. I'd appreciate any help you can give me.

EDIT:
lastly check adsl tool:
Maximum speed available in your area is 10Mbps
Your current product speed is : 4Mbps
Titracker:

Will this continue till the end of the month?

Post your usage here from Last month and this month, from what i read, if you did the same previous month then an email if on record for the user would've been sent. They are checking to see a pattern i think.

I did roughly 186GB last month with a little over that this month but no email i have seen (will search just incase) so understand why the speed is slow now. I also PM'd him to understand better aswell. :) ranger never fails :D to let us know what is going on.

I do believe the speed will return to normal at the beginning of the month.

Thanks for clearing that up Ranger.Very big difference to what the user was claiming and not helpful for those evaluating whether to sign up or not.

I did 278GB combined last month and 265GB combined this month.

I wasn't throttled last month, a warning would be nice.
Being stuck on 0.38Mbps for the next 10 days is going to suck bigtime.

Prophet112 - Your usage and mine are not that big of a difference so it makes sense. Just need confirmation that the throttling is correct based on our account speeds.

As far as a warning, only if they have your email (i think email notifications or online billing sent to you) will get the warning. I get billing and notifications but will have to search incase i missed it.

Will update with any new info i get my way.

Yeah the SAIX site does not seem to tie up with what my SABNZBd is saying.

So ranger, does this mean the softcapping is back again? Can you give us an idea of the limits?

Any TI users in Durban that can comment on the service so far ? Looking at trying out their 2MB Uncapped bundle to start with.

We as Ti subscribers would like to know what is reasonable or what is excessive, give us something to go by, with no indication its difficult to manage ones bandwidth. I personally average under 200gigs 2Mbs uncapped a month but will never know whether its acceptable or not.

According to SAIX usage Ive done about 69 Gigs, everything still performing as it should, no problems.

Ranger I would also like to know.....

Eish dude. Was awesome last month. Can can still use the line well but when you softcapped (no one knows the AUP limits nor whether there is softcapping or if line broken in my case) things go pear shaped and line becomes unusable for anything or if the line is faulty.

I'm also soft capped. Did less than last month and the titracker just tells me my data is being "managed"

If you're claiming to be softcapped, please give the line speed that you got and the data usage that you are seeing (and where you are seeing it, SAIX or titracker as they have different values)

I am on uncapped 2 meg line.
Upgraded 11/04/2013 to 4 meg uncapped. (btw never got above 2 meg speeds)
Total usage up + down = 390 GB (See ranger post above)

Current speed : 0.50 meg and less.
Poor streaming and gaming etc.

Are these speeds for local servers too? Since the beginning of this month my international has been terrible. But my local is perfect.
