What brilliant service!
After holding for 13 and a half minutes I get someone on the line that tells me he can only check my line's sync speed and that I have to call the ADSL department if I have problem with line speed.

After a frustratingly circular argument with this particular genius (I think his name was Samo) never mind - here's how the conversation went:
Me: My line's at 25% speed
Him: You need to call ADSL department
Me: Let me guess - they're closed.
Him: Yes
Me: That's convenient, so you're saying I need to go the rest of the night on a degraded service?
Him: You need to call the ADSL department
Me: But they're closed.
Him: Yes, but you need to call them because I can't do anything about your line speed.
Me: So I've just got to keep paying for a degraded service?
Him: You need to call the ADSL department
Me: Have you gotten a lot of other calls about this tonight?
Him: Yes - most people are complaining about this tonight.
Me: So that means that there's a general issue - should that be escalated to a technical team?
Him: You need to call the ADSL department
Me: If there's a general problem that's affecting your customers shouldn't this be escalated?
Him: Yes - You need to call the ADSL department.
Me: Can I speak to a manager?
He put me through the ADSL department whose office hours are until 21:00.

F--- this sh--, I'm moving back to MWEB

Until mweb shapes the crap out of you, then you move to afrihost, and they shape you....

Tested with my Mweb account - works perfectly - this is definitely a Telkom ISP issue.
I only switched from MWEB because Telkom were coming in cheaper - I never had issues like this.
Granted there were the odd issues - but not like this - and you could always get hold of someone to give you competent assistance.

Test conducted on 11 June 2013 10:22:54 PM SAST

Download Speed: 7289 kbps (911.1 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 710 kbps (88.8 KB/sec transfer rate)
Latency: 350 ms

This is international, ping is high

Torrents are still slow though

It seems to be improving!

ping is now down to 311 ms

This is almost comical, just started a bunch of torrents and I'm already at about 120kb/s yet I'm averaging 13kb/s for http downloads/traffic and a 2.8MB PDF timed out so often and took so much trouble getting that I felt like I was back in 1997 (although to be fair 13kb/s is still a lot faster than the 3.5kb/s of dial-up).

I gather things are better now? Noticed speeds on NNTP and youtube all returning to good readings.

Gonna try some gaming now.

Edit: BF3 and Warframe were great, no issues to EU servers/hosts. Let it stay like this please :).

So I take it Internation is still in shambled and we still don't know why its been like this since last night?

Last night was horrendous. I tried to watch an E3 presentation on youtube and could barely watch 10 - 15 seconds in between buffering @ 480p. Then I switched to my FNB data and was able to stream the entire conference @ 720p without a single buffer.

I am on a 4mb.

Haven't tested TI today to see if it has improved.

b.t.w. Is anyone on a 4mb uncapped with TI able to watch 720p youtube vids without constant buffering?

Had exactly the same problem :(

My connection is bad now as well, yesterday it wasn't too bad. Now most pages don't load ,international and local are very slow. Even mybroadband is taking about 5 min to load a page. Haven't tried any downloading yet so not to sure about that.

Mine seems ok this morning

Wish they'd release updates on network problems/maintenance/whatever.
