There was a very minor change made this morning, but it was only enabling some statistics gathering in advance of the changes this weekend, it should not have had any impact.

Hope it keeps working for you ...

If I recall correctly, Thursday Friday and Saturday last week were also fine - then it died on Sunday again (here's holding thumbs)

Getting 230ms on all MWEB servers, cannot play local dota 2 like this.

Anyone else having this issue?

*If* dropping the PPPoE session on the router, and starting a new one, fixes it, it *could* be ISP-related. But really, I can't think of any viable reason it would actually be the case.

If dropping the PPPoE session doesn't make a difference, but resetting the router (or pulling out the phone line) makes a difference, I suspect DSLAM issues.

If pulling out the phone line (waiting for the modem to lose sync, reconnecting it) doesn't make a difference, and restarting the PPPoE doesn't either, but rebooting the router does, then I would say the problem is most likely with the router.

When you say Afrihost works fine, but you say the 'Telkom account becomes slow once every few days', for how long are you running the Afrihost account?

Afrihost is my backup 1 gb account which I only use when Telkom ISP has problems so I rarely use it but this month I had to use it quite often to use skype properly, youtube or gaming so theres something up with the account, since switching the router on and off fixes it for a while.

These are perfect so it must be packet loss or something else.

I'm struggling with downloading Ubuntu 13.04 from Here
I've downloaded it now 7 times via download managers in Windows and Linux in the last 2 days.
Every time the hash code does not correspond with what are listed here

Not sure if this could be related to current TI issues? I'm experiencing the same with PS3 downloads, especially GT5.

Any input or advice?

Died again, same results on test account. Speedtest is fine, browsing and streaming at lowest quality buffers.

So least we can say theres something wrong with the Telkom ISP account if we all have problems or theres a cable problem somewhere unknown.

My tracerts and pings are all perfect so cant see whats causing the problem

I can't even open gmail tonight. So I resorted to the WA account I cancelled last week and I'm sailing along nicely. WTF TI, seriously, WTF????

Gmail was also going slow too with Telkom until I restarted my router so now its fine again.

Arrggghh.. my router didnt save the account changes to test... redid them with the test account, trace route is slightly different, streaming seems ok on the test account, but I'm not sure if thats because my router restarted.

Just switched to HD video and its also fine on the test account.

Its probably the router restart which fixed it

Where roughly in durban do u stay Shanezn, I'm from durban and my connection bhas been flying at line speed.

Durban South. Speed is fine after I reboot, no problems there, but the issue is I have to perform a reboot every day or so or my speeds become almost unusable. Never had to when I was with MWEB. I still have a capped account with MWEB, and that always works fine.

As far as I know, this indicates a DSLAM problem, something occurs when the DSLAM port loses sync and gets sync again, which improves the throughput on the port temporarily.

Did you log any line faults?

I've logged 4 calls in the past 2 weeks. They keep resetting the port, because they can't pick up any problems on my line.

@shanezn been having the exact same problems as you. Every time I reset my router(twice a day) my speed picks up for a couple of hours and then completely drops off. The only thing my Line seems to do well is stream ads on youtube perfectly

This is getting cr@zy, very unstable lines for the past couple of weeks...

Dear Telkom Internet User

In keeping with our continuous transformation towards improved services and customer experience, Telkom Internet will be conducting system maintenance.

While it is possible that you may experience a degraded internet service during the maintenance period, rest assured that your ISP will be taking every measure possible to prevent the same.

The maintenance period is Saturday, 22 June 2013 from 00:00 to Sunday, 23 June 2013, 06:00.

Could be in for some issues this weekend, I assume by "Saturday, 22 June 2013 from 00:00" they mean midnight Saturday.
