Classic symptoms of "lack of IPC" but you will never hear an ISP admitting that until they are pushed into a corner. Been there, done that.
Don't think telkom has to buy IPC on there own network

There are a lot of issues in GT5 ito disconnections, incompatibility with host issues and updates downloaded are not completing and when they do, the hash values are not correct.
I'm referring to the PS3 console and PSN.
I cannot indicate ping, etc as I'm not sure if these values can be acquired on the PS3.
I was struggling to download a 17MB firnware from PSN on Thursday. It cjeot on bombing out.
My PS3 is in DMZ mode and I've done port forwarding on the GT5 ports.
It should be classified as online gaming, which receives the same priority as video streaming and other real-time traffic, higher priority than downloads.
If there aren't any other problems, it might be specific to this game, and will take a bit of time to track down (e.g., we'll need to install it, do packet captures, debugging etc.).
Is anyone experiencing problems with other games?
Agreed it has become the streaming and downloading account however fails for gaming. I thought my setup was broken but after testing afrihost account realize its Telkom thats an issuePlease this is a very popular game and basically the only game I play online..... Its very bad lag.... It was working fine no problems until now so something broke.
The thing is the connection is fast and downloads actually fly but yeah gaming is very very bad now.... Actually impossible to play games online with this account now....

I have a logged a change to increase the priority of gaming traffic, for tonight between 18h00 and 20h00. I am currently awaiting approval of the change. I will let you guys know once it has been implemented.
This should resolve the latency problem.
well uncapped account back to its usual crap...can not stream, browsing is dead slow....Green Point, Cape Town
Change approved and implemented between 19h05 and 19h20.
Please let me know if gaming latency improves from about now.
I think your change has broken it for everyone. I am getting pings of 400ms to telkom.co.za here in joburg.

It's not consistently high, but it is highly variable:
--- mail.telkomsa.net ping statistics ---
131 packets transmitted, 131 received, 0% packet loss, time 134341ms
rtt min/avg/max/mdev = 14.489/115.801/1118.460/211.822 ms, pipe 2
Online gaming is now in the same priority as icmp ...
Are you experiencing problems besides high ping? Everything else seems fine here ...
I may be able to tweak this a bit ....
