Telkom Internet Uncapped User Feedback.

I moved over to Telkom from Openweb.
I'm now getting a max of 1.5Mbps on my 4Mbps line. :confused:

I've logged a fault.
 
So,

Just a head's up to everyone... I requested my TI ADSL *account* to be cancelled with Telkom (more than 3 weeks ago). Wasn't too impressed with the performance, TI unable to provision the account correctly (unable to log into my email / usage tracker / etc) and couldn't really be bothered to sit on the phone for hours on end with Telkom to sort it out - I mean hey, if you can't provision a account even, then obviously there are issues on your side.

What does Telkom do? more than 3 weeks later after requesting them to cancell my TI account, they go and cancel the TI account (finally), my ADSL Service, and my bloody phone line!!!! Everything, cancelled. NO SERVICE WHAT SO EVER.

Thanks Telkom. I guess it doesn't matter what you do, your image will just plain and simply never change. You CANNOT be trusted, and you will NEVER be able to operate as a respectable company.

Conveniently, everything was ofcourse cancelled Friday afternoon just before they go home, and conveniently, now I have to wait untill Monday to process cancellations on the cancellations that was incorrectly issued by Telkom Internet.

Your incompetence, never fails to amaze me... Really.

Ranger, did any JHB/DBN upgrades happen today? Netflix quality seems quite a bit better tonight than most nights.

Find this odd seeing as how they phone you before doing any cancellations. You get a call from "retentions" who than sorts out your issues.
 
Well it seems fine for me now.... Stable bit slow browsing speeds during peak afternoon times but looks good. Got a call from some one about the latency and it seem to be resolved.... will see how it goes.....

Twitch.tv is actually working today.... :) 1080p no buffering true story.....

Hey guys

New here, but I myself have had my problems with Telkom...

I am currently linked up to this exchange - http://www.broadbandstats.co.za/exchange/RODE

for the past 18 months, iv had to put up with a constant 1000ms + ping every day from 5pm-1am on weekdays...and all day on weekends...iv had numerous calls with Telkom, all of which resulted in a technician being dispatched who would change the port at my exchange as the only solution he saw, which of course would never help.

I dont understand what the cause is because iv had technicians tell me and show me that everything on the line is fine, I know its not my isp (mweb) because i've tested this on an afrihost account, i bought a brand new router to no avail, i replaced all the cords here at home to no avail...the only cause i can point out is that the exchange is way too congested, however i have seen no posts related to my exchange causing these high ping issues at all for anyone else. I live about 1.5km from the exchange so that isnt an issue either, and i know for a fact that no one is using my wifi and that my system is clean of any sort of malware.

However, from the start of June until about the 10th of July i had great internet with a constant 20ms ping ... you have absolutely no idea how satisfactory it was to know the issue was gone, until 4 days ago when my ping gently crept up to that 1000ms mark again, and now i have my old issue back once again after about a month of relief...

I do not know whats wrong, and if one things for sure, its that Telkom wont get off their ass and actually fix it...

Does anyone have any ideas of what the cause might be? Anyone know some info about my exchange etc

Help would be greatly appreciated after being screwed over for nearly 2 years...Ive also been told that i cannot move my line to a different exchange at all, unfortunately :(

one hour and counting on the phone to call centres. the one agent as clueless as the other (and then ofcourse, I get cutt off - or shall I say, the phone's handset conviently gets put down).

never ever in my life will I touch Telkom again if there is an alternative. you had no right and no permission to cancel my phone nor ADSL services and I will complain absolutely everywhere I can until you make good on your unauthorised changes to my phone account

So gents - now we know why an PHONE COMPANY and an ISP should be SEPERATE companies... Holy #$@ what a cock up. I just can't believe that Telkom Internet has 1) the audacity, and 2) the authority, to cancel Telkom services which CLEARLY has no bearing on them what so ever...

EDIT: 30 minutes on twitter and all services (hopefully without the TI account) re-instated. Telkom call centers definately are the worst in the industry, always looking for a excuse to not have to actually do something....

The last fault I booked got cleared without anyone doing anything.
