Telkom Internet Uncapped User Feedback.

You must have a problem with your torrent client or the torrents you are trying to download as the only shaping I see during business hours and between 00:00 & 06:00 is that imposed by my personal QoS download limits - see graph below:

... MickeyD got in before me :)

dont think the client or torrents can be the problem. Use default settings on Utorrent and download torrents with hundreds if not thousands of seeds. Relationship between seed and leech is always above 1.5 or so. Normally 10 in favour of the seed.

torrents DEAD. Again. No feedback yet from TelkomZA. Would be asking too much to expect feedback within 24 hours for a service which I have paid for in advance? If so, what is the ETA on feeback?

TelkomZA is generally pretty quick so that's surprising that you haven't heard anything yet.
You could also try reaching Telkom on twitter.

do you know what the accepted feedback time is? or the average feedback time?

Not really, but you're the first person to complain since he's been on the forum...so...better than whatever you're experiencing.

tried a http download. got to 3MB of 300MB and timed out. Browsing is crap.

If not sorted by tomorrow, will give notice for cancellation by month end. work too hard for my money to piss it away on a non-existent service.

No problems here either, running like the clappers. Done now but been going at over 420Kbps on 4Meg for past 2 hours without a hitch...

That sounds more like DNS issues than actual ISP problems. Might want to try a bunch of public ones and see whether things work any better. Also a while back ranger posted the Telkom DNSs people should try specifically setting so you might want to look for those as well or perhaps someone has them bookmarked and can point you to them.

I did the DNS thing TelkomZA posted about.

Pulled 2GB worth of torrent downloads during midnight and about now. Suppose I should happy for that.

Who is on the BRONBERG exchange? Just want to finds out how your torrents are downloading.torrents are just bad, this is my second month with these crappy torrent speeds. Telkomza is just useless.Gonna have to cancel if this doesnt stop.

Https and newsgroup downloads were pretty much dead in the water for me at 6am - getting maybe 30kb/s on my 4mb line.
Traceroute to apple.com and bbc.co.uk both timed out.

At 7am it was like someone hit a switch - screaming along at 400kb/s now.

Tweeted to @telkomZa and PM'ed - likely too early in the morning to hear back from them.

My Teamviewer keeps disconnecting....
Anyone else got issues with remote desktop?

As happy as I am with Plugg right now, I am always on the lookout for a better product.

Now while I have my reservations with Telkom, I do think that having them as an ISP might have its advantages. Like controlling the entire infrastructure for example.

In terms of uncapped 4mb lines.

Can someone in Cape Town please ping this IP address?

I haven't used Telkom DNSs in quite a while, since around July last year in fact, cuz they simply produce too many errors and missing websites. Might want to look into other public DNSs, also try and look for a program called DNSBench since that's what I usually turn to when problems emerge.
