Netflix and Hulu is still a little iffy (watchable at least) for me but iTunes streaming is flying at the moment.
 
I have ask the supp at afirhost to test my line this what the emailed me.

"I have checked your account and tested the line and couldn't find any defects on both.
It was good that you tested with different accounts. The problem comes from the Telkom
exchange. Please contact Telkom and report a slow access fault with them. Please let
them know you getting latency from the exchange."

please help me

If you have the same issue with another ISP then you have telkom issues.

PM TelkomZA and cross your fingers it's your line and not your exchange :)
 
What can a consumer do when the DSLAM is congestion i have to wait like 3min for a page to load and when i run a tracert route:

Agreed...Think their system crashed and they restored from the wrong back-up (probably 1999) .... now we are screwed :(

Anyhow, downloads seem to be better, but latency is still over 600ms to Europe.

The fewer details you give, the less chance we can do anything about it .....

We can't fix much over the weekend, but the one thing we may be able to improve is game latency for those games that aren't better since 18h00 last night. But then, we at least need to know what game.

Which region you are in would also help.
 
We are waiting for Wholesale to execute what we have requested. So yes, maybe Telkom is currently the hold up, but not us, and we do care about it, but there isn't much we can do about it until wholesale completes some of the commercial/administrative processes.

Why is my 20GB capped account so useless? It's never been like it has for the past month. I can't even stream Twitch.tv after hours, or download updates/software during hours at more than 5% of my 10Mbit line speed? Aren't capped accounts meant to be unshaped? Have things deteriorated that much?

I have PMed you before with no response, I would really appreciate one now.

Is my account broken?

Telkom's capped accounts are shaped similar to uncapped AFAIK.
 
Hey ranger I've had latency troubles with League of Legends to the EUW server. One game the latency will be fine and the next it will be 600+. This always happens to me and my friend on TI, our other friends with ISP's don't experience that problem so its not LoL's servers.

I'm from Cape Town. Hope this helps
 
Netflix still crappy with very low resolution and still buffering every 20-30 seconds!!! It is so frustrating!!!!
 
Starting to wonder if they ever gonna get it right!!! Now 9 days and counting with crappy internet from TELKOM!!!
 
They have said they are working on it, and they have also said they are waiting for things to happen that cannot take place over the weekend.
 
What game, and where are you located?

Bf4 on ps4. Just tried now again, one step forwards 10 steps back. Really is a joke, got a ps4 and can't even game online due to this.

I fully understand what you saying, but I am paying good money for a service provider that delivers a sub-standard service to its customers!!!
 
I can't even connect to the Telkom ISP portion correctly. My ISP account authenticates but there's no IP allocated! I'm getting so frustrated! I'm using my Afrihost account to post this now.

I understand your frustration, believe me, I'm just pointing out that at this stage, we have been provided with as much info as they are able to give us, and your question of 'when' has to some degree been answered. As they said, they are routing through Cape Town, to bypass the main issue, which they are in the process of attending to. Hold tight! It's been a bad week for many of us.

Diablo 3 and World of Warcraft both sitting on >600 ms (Even see some lag on Hearthstone)

Path of Exile sitting on >600ms

Left 4 Dead 2 also sitting on >300ms

strangely League of Legends sits on <200ms...

4 meg line and I am in the southern Gauteng region.
 
I would love to see Path of Exile sorted this weekend so I can play a little.

Sent loads of info to Charl a couple days ago, will post in this thread a little later!
