rofl.. again all these people that really thought just cos telkom put a "lower" price that it is worth going to there network for data?

really having a good chuckle now. why would you ever trust Telkom after how many years of stuff ups and still every single day they prove to us they are not capable of running a world class network, why would you trust your data with them?

Why don't you go play on the highway? I wood really chuckle then.
If you don't use the ISP, then it is none of your concern is it?

So, uh, how exactly did Afrihost's migration go?

Access to trackers was in the same prioritisation as actual bittorrent, and I think the bittorrent was preventing the tracker traffic from getting through. Around 14h30 today we gave tracker (tcp, udp, dht) higher priority than p2p, which looks like it has resolved the problem.

Please provide feedback if this is not the case for you.

So what'd happened to newsgroups, none of the international ones are connecting.
Super news

No idea. We will focus on gaming from ... later today.

We actually made a lot of effort to ensure the call centres knew what was going on, what not to recommend (e.g. "Don't ask the customer to reset their modem", "Don't ask the customer to change anything!"), what to recommend, how to communicate issues to us etc., but we got *nothing* back from them except executive escalations delayed by 6 hours (IOW, by the time we found out what issues they had been having for 6 hours, they were mostly fixed, but if they had notified us sooner we could have resolved sooner).

Until now our focus has been on getting the new network on-par with the old one. Improvements should start coming soon after that ...

We only have one real gamer in our team, another in a team that sits near us. Most of the rest of us just don't have the time ... so pointers would help (at least me).

Thanks for reply Ranger appreciate effort and PM. Some feedback. Fired up Youtube and it ran a 720p with a small buffer but 5 minutes later another video in 720p starts to crawl with constant start/stops, 1080p not working at all. Tried connecting to Black Ops server with no luck. A work around "was" using Google Public DNS but that also fails. Have not been able to connect to Black Ops servers for three days now.

actually I have used them as an ISP and they are utterly crap. in fact I still deal with them daily due to the nature of my work. still have nothing good to say about them and probably never will until they actually start doing something effective for this country.

who really cares how afrihosts migration went? dont use them and even though they had hiccups atleast the guys that do use them can expect quality from it unlike Hellkom.

maybe im a bit harsh on telkom but have they not proven over the last 10 years how useless they are?

Still having problems with Piratebay magnet links starting...

Itunes Store downloads are giving errors.... Torrents are not starting.... HTTP browsing and downloads going flat out though.

My p2p does not work yet

I think thats a general problem, on all my ISP accounts (use a few different accounts) the pirate bay trackers take like 2 min to find the files. not sure if its something on my pc but every other torrent site works perfectly normal.

But with other ISP`s they start and then goes full speed. With telkom nothing happens

I've been on Telkom uncapped since just after they launched, but if this is the future, I'll be cancelling soon.

Before, I had 0kbps on any torrent. A well-seeded Russian based torrent (RUTracker) now at least starts but is dog-slow! 4-40kbps (goes @ full line speed when I change to Openweb). Any torrent from TPB does not even start at all. 'Connection Refused' but starts immediately on Openweb and also runs at full line speed. Back to the drawing board?

Looks like shaping to the extreme.. Bytes before 9pm, couldn't even connect to newsgroups, after 9pm, straight to full line speed. Same thing last night.
