Telkom latency issue

For the past 2-3 months I've been experiencing high latencies in the day time everyday. I'm currently running a 2Mbps Uncapped Shaped line. Although not shaped, I still get latencies of 500-1500ms in WoW and MW3 and other online applications and games.
Does anyone else have these problems? And is there a solution?

your not alone. Same with Diablo 3. BF4 and starcraft seem okish tho. But mine are more evening issues.

Ive noticed when going trough the following hop is when we get the latency on on-line applications/gaming:

6 244 ms 243 ms 243 ms ams-ip-hsll-1-gig-0-1-0.telkom-ipnet.co.za [196.43.9.82]

But now how do we go about reporting this?

Exactly the same for me although mine is slightly mroe weird. I live in Jhb and my latency in jhb is 68ms and Cape town is 50ms

Since Telkom announced there gaming / streaming package everyone has been effected with latency??? Are they trying to make us pay that extra R49.00 jus tot be able to play???

That's an international link issue...

Seems ok here ( Tableview ) in mornings : about 180ms -250ms to EU servers. But after 6 in evenings it's dreadful : 500 - 800 ms grr! Every night , weekdays and weekends. This seems to have started after the "upgrades"
When refreshing latency on Steam, I'm getting extreme latency/ping fluctuations to overseas servers.

Yeah what I also noticed that the speedtest hosted on Mybroadband gives me higher pings than speedtest.net

Do you connect to your modem using wifi or cable? Post your modem stats (sync speed, attenuation, SNR etc), traceroute examples and speed tests - for us to diagnose where the latency is being introduced.
