Any news on the remotes? I also have one of the remotes with no microphone - after the update, the interface seems more geared to voice inputs.

So casting from my phone to the LIT box works fine - no issues. I have a Google home mini and it works fine with a regular chromecast but whenever I try using it with the LIT box built-in chromecast, it does not work. Anyone had any luck with getting the Google home devices to work with the built-in Chromecast?

Does anyone have a full firmware for these yet? I still have a bricked one from a forced incorrect OtA update I downloaded for the wrong version.
From Nology a while back, I'm guessing it's due to Netflix certification and possibly DSTV now

* Unfortunately we can’t supply anyone with the firmware image since the process includes a step that burns an electronic serial number to the device. Due to HDCP rules we are not allowed to distribute this image and tools to the public.

Wow Nology is very fast. Within 5minutes of sending a support email through their site they gave me a call back. That is fast service

Out of interest, why ?

I'm not doubting anything you say - I'm just wondering if you have a valid reason

Which Android version do you have ?

With the latest Android TV 8.0, both will have very similar software and pretty much identical hardware under the hood. The Mi box has 1 x USB and no Ethernet though, so most people are using that single USB for the Ethernet adapter (ie nothing for external storage). The LIT has the Ethernet and 2 x USB.

And there'll be a voice remote to purchase separately from next week sometime

The LIT would do it for me then. I dont want to lose a USB for LAN so I am happy the LIT has LAN port already included

Bluetooth Remote Control

There should be a new remote available sometime next week through Smartkit (www.smartkit.co.za), the same place some of you purchased your IR remotes and extra PSUs from. I'm unsure of the price at this stage or exactly when in the week it'll be available, but I'm almost certain next week is the date aimed for.

It'll be compatible with all versions of the the LIT box (barring the A06) and running Android TV 8.0 (so, you'll need to the upgrade)
It'll also have direct buttons for Netflix, Google Play and YouTube
