Found the combination - volume down and enter key puts remote into pairing mode.

IR works out the box.

Trying to get mic to pick up something I say. I can see on the screen its not picking up my voice.

Restarted LIT box. Google assistant now working. Awesome! I think the updated LIT box with the new remote is brilliant value. I can't see any reason to use a different device when this does everything the family needs with no issues for us now.

Whew.

I got nervous for a second.

Glad all working and thanks for being the first on here to feedback

How did you find the combination? On screen?

Checked a YouTube clip of Ematic Jetstream unboxing (thanks to the earlier post ;). The clip had the on-screen instruction of how to put remote into Bluetooth pairing mode :)

@ridr How is the quality (feel) of the new remote compared to the old one?

The old one is so thin and plasticky and feels like it can crumble in your hand.

This one definitely feels a bit bulkier/ more solid. But hopefully the kids don't drop it tomorrow already. Had to glue the old one back together on about day 2 of the kids abusing it!

It is about the three times as thick, I think. So it does feel better

Any idea if this will work with the MI box?

Paired my new remote to my Mi Box (after successfully using it with my LIT box) - it pairs, but I don't get a response from any of the buttons. Not sure exactly how the remote works - do the buttons still work over IR and maybe just voice is Bluetooth? Does the mi box have IR? (I don't need it to work, just did quick test to see what would happen.)

Yea I think that's exactly how it is... Buttons are IR.

Thanks for testing that - that's been a question on here for a while

Does everything work over Bluetooth on the Lit box?
No I think he's right... The voice is the only Bluetooth part. I'll check it out though.

When you first get țhe the remote, use IR to navigate to the pairing menu. I thought that maybe once it was paired, it would change all to BT... But it seems not

BTW it seems that Geewiz have Mi remotes... And they sell an IR remote, which means the Mi should have IR. So perhaps the IR is incompatible between LIT and Mi

Interesting. It looks like the Mi does have IR. So must be incompatible, because if it was going to work it would just work (wouldn't need any specific settings or playing around). Will wait and see if anyone else has a different outcome to their testing.

Need to put my LitBox out of sight so the IR being the only working portion would be a bit of a problem for me. Could someone please test that the normal button operations work fine on Bluetooth

@Icemanbrfc

Thanks - with the logo at the bottom too ?

So many remotes have been tested in the past 16 months ... I was questioning myself

Regarding the pairing, it seems the 'OK' button down 'Down Arrow' will also put it in pairing mode. I think when I find out, I'm going to Smartkit tomaybe put pairing instructions
