I have two A07s and actually love the mouse function. Kids and wife also uses it without problems. I am just too glad I didnt get an A11.... Why on earth did they cripple the remote like that Dolby? Also, when can we expect them to enable or bring out a version that supports voice search as per the one on the SDMC website?

On the A06 the mouse is VERY sensitive and moves very quickly, and also just switches on and becomes the default pointer which is highly annoying when u just wanna use the normal buttons

Google Certified a remote without that hamburger (menu) button. The the first batch (A06 and A07) could ship with the hamburger button as I *think* certification wasn't finalized at that stage. However, when it came for the second batch (A11 and A12) the previous uncertified remote couldn't be shipped. Sot he issue wasn't BT vs IR - but rather the button. It also effected others :

As for voice support, DSMC actually has a number of remotes and it comes to down cost etc. Obviously the box needs to meet certain budgets etc to make viable with what giving it away free etc

Well I took out a 24 month contract and the Kenilworth branch told me there's no stock. Weird

Yeah well, it seems they are trying to blackmail people into taking a 2 year contract, to get a LIT TV box, and yet they do not have stock to deliver. They know that I will pay them hard cash, when they put one in my hand, but they are not able to deliver either - so why must I take a contract. Either way they do not have any in stock to give me.

Something is not well - somewhere in this setup. If I find another box, with a supported DSTV app, and I can breakout the audio from the HDMI, I will take it. So far the LIT box is the only one with that possibility. So I don't know ...

Nah it's not blackmail. They completely misjudged demand and their supply chain management is a mess.

Is it that difficult - you know you have x number of people at y location - who want a unit - ship x units to y location - then you will not have people waiting months for a device.

My thoughts at the moment is that they are buying a 1000 units at a time, they run out. It takes them a week or two to source another 1000. But they are shipping them out willy nilly with no thought to where there is known demand, because they are clueless.

Agreed. And they’ve only exasperated the situation by offering one as part of their big deal for January.

Yeah, well, the Lady at the shop said they had 3, but she could not give me one. They where reserved for contract customers. It was not clear whether these where people who had already taken out a contract or those who still had to take out a contract.

I just walked into.canal walk today, told them what package I'm on asked about the box and got it within 5 minutes.

On month to month, wasn't asked to sign any paperwork.

Hi Guys

Got my box at Canal Walk a couple of days ago, and everything seems to work. I do have a couple of questions though:

1) when watching DSTV Now via the app, it really doesn't appear to be in HD (picture seems more crisp than SD, but definitely not as good as watching via the dish. Maybe it's the refresh rate or something that's the problem, coz on sport channels when watching football on SS3, I definitely pick it up when the screen pans. What are your impressions regarding watching via the DSTV Now app and watching via the dish? I even tried watching via LTE (25mb/s connection) with no improvement. Don't get me wrong, it's watchable, just not what I'd call proper 720P.

2) I can stream Youtube at 1080P no problems (Netflix too), but when I try to select one of the HD streams on Terrarium TV (awesome app btw), it buffers like a mofo. Does this app just require a much better connection than Youtube/Netflix does?

For reference, I have a 4mb/s adsl line.

I'd appreciate your thoughts and recommendations!

Try using an older APK. From around mid to end November 2017.. Could be DSTV limiting quality on the latest version as many more people are using the platform. Killing the bandwith

Here I am wanting a LIT TV box, and last night Windows Defender would not even update. That on a 10 mega line. Maybe I shouldn't bother.
