As far as outdated - it plays netflix out of the box. Does the LIT?

It's definitely outdated, bwana - it's a got WiFi chipset and HDMI from close on a decade back?

Just noticed today that the blue power indicator lights have officially died. The red standby light still works though... Hope this isn't a sign of the Telkom lit box manufacturing quality

I am considering getting one of these. Does it have dstv now and Netflix preinstalled? Does the terrarium app work on it straight out the box?

Dstv now yes, Netflix no. Terrarium works yes, but you need to sideload the correct version. I had endless trouble with it.

Bought Roku express on your indirect advice and love it great device just works.

Look haven't bought a LIT box or won't because of the Netflix issue.

But for me personally. the Roku is just old. It's great that one can save a few bucks though, but it really has little place in a high resolution world. And like I said earlier, the issue IS Netflix, so a little unfair to write off the box as 'junk'.

I've used test devices that are twice the price and have had no issue to date ... until they run with new Android operating systems.

Would you say this is a better option or one of those cheaper android boxes?
Personally the cheaper Android boxes, that runs proper Android. I have an HPH Nagrace box as well, and just being able to load apps directly from the play store is so much better. The only problem will be DSTV Now

Roku has multiple devices I took the express for a specific reason.

Which video play do you use? Do you use the recommended one for less ads? I'm having trouble using vlc.
Edit: and any particular streams you would recommend? A lot are broken.

Thanks. Just started using this app.

Less ads, but that's on my Chinese box not the lit box. To be honest, I mainly use Netflix, because I have no time anymore to sit and sift through links for streams that work.
