Also the Facebook app has a black flickering effect, seems to be the gui but mainly occurs when scrolling and playing a video.

^ change to MX player as default video player - MX player is awesome player , suggest getting pro player to bypass those pesky adds

Yeap mind if I link it here, I have an apk from apk mirror?

The inbuilt player is in beta stage, use MX Player in the meantime, you can find it in the playstore.

MyBB confirms that the Youtube app has a maximum of 1080p

to be fair, you ARE using a BETA player. Dont think we can point the finger at LIT this time :)
Haha nah I'm not blaming the Lit Box just recording errors and bugs that occur so new users won't feel intimidated.

seems like a issue with the Youtube app itself.
Yes. I did find an alternative YouTube app that Might go up to 4k. I would go right now to test and confirm but My home Internet is down today ,not sure when it will come back on.

If anyone wants to test it and confirm I'll post a Link below.

Its much better than the standard Leanback launcher, which I have no clue how to customize to my liking (not that I care too much). I have a raspberry pi 2(b) running Pi-Hole ad blocking on my network so I never realized the free version shows ads XD

Its a much better launcher IMO, so the $3 to remove the ads wont be too much of a hassle if it was so intrusive

Mine isn't with me at the moment either - but you shouldn't need a different app. If you search 4K content (usually nature with pretty, colourful chameleons) and select Options > Stats for Nerds you'll get the actual resolution. At home on a UHD TV / 20Mbit line I got it.

For for it's worth, Plex showed UHD 60fps content as well

Curious on their testing methods.

Why is Netflix not preloaded when Telkom advertises the box as being a Netflix player in addition to others?
Also, anyone have experience sideloading DSTV Now according to the first post in this forum? Can you report on the process and if any problems since installing/watching?

many thanks

You are going to have to real pal, lots of experienced users in here with lots of feedback over the entire thread. I tried to consolidate as much as possible, but its a lot ;)

I tested a video which played in 4k.. Albeit only a few played.. Confirmed the 4k resolution using stats for nerds on youtube..

Tried today and it goes up 2560x1440.. Seems telkom is limiting my streaming rate.. Lol. Eish the delima of uncapped lte.. Never works properly all the time

Note my default youtube app was updated when i installed aptoid store on device
