Telkom LIT Android media box - Tips/Tricks/Apps thread

Most have other sources for movies, series, others are happy with DSTV for sports and what else they have to offer. No sport on NetFlix - horses for courses ...

Most DSTV subscribers would probable prefer to have Netflix available to them on the LIT for one very obvious reason - they already have access to DSTV, including sport, via their dish.

Netflix has the biggest library so, again, it's a glaring omission.

Any idea what "No carrier SDMC TVB-100" means when I check to see why an app, in this case Hulu, isn't available for the device?

The box has no cellphone hardware or sim so it says no carrier. If it was an Android cellular device it would say eg Vodacom tvb 100...

If it says it's incompatible is because it's not an android TV app. So get the apk off apkpure, sideload it and install sideload launcher

Hulu is only available in North America. It won't install on your box via the Play Store.
Only via the APK if you find it, and you'll need a VPN to watch.

Any one have any issues with the air mouse? Mine just moves by itself. And I can't control it. Changed batteries, changed USB and it's the same. Is there a way to try recalibrate it?
Edit: i did eventually find the box with the manual but no Instructions on how to calibrate the air mouse. If there is anogher piece of paper besides the manual I might have thrown it away by mistake. Maybe some one can take a photo of the instructions or something?

I used to have Hulu (through a roku account), till one day for some reason they just did not want to renew my subscription through roku. And it does not work with a South African credit card

Yeah - they blocked that trick where you faked a US zip code with your SA address unfortunately.

Personally I us a US credit card but I've heard gift cards/vouchers also work.

How do u activate the Lit Video on telkom self service? I am a 50g Smartbroad wireless package and qualify for the free 50g streaming. When i go to manage subscriptions i dont see a lit option.
There is an option to a lit video bundle under purchases..but it is R229..

You need to talk to Telkom about that or use an USSD code ( ? )

Anyone know if it's possible to extend the length of the power cable used on the lit box. It won't reach my socket so using an extension at the moment. TIA

Anybody else having problems with the Netflix app in the store? Installed it and it keeps saying the device is not compatible with the software. Downloaded the apk directly from their website and it keeps crashing after every episode watched and the UI just plain out sucks... as if it is being used on a mobile device not a tv

It's mentioned a few times in this thread on what is needed, there is a download link for a modified version supplied one of the posters, I cannot remember the link though.

yeah i know about that one and have downloaded it again... just can't think of a reason they will put LIT box as a device for Netflix on the app store if it still doesn't work
