Nah i want a proper voice enabled remote. I cant deal with my phone.

I would prefer a wifi-direct remote like Roku has, no need to point the remote at the device.

First of all, great thread, been reading a bit and it's been really helpful. I have a problem with my LIT box. Last night it was working perfectly, but when I got home tonight and switched it on, it went on for 5 seconds, said "power off" and now the lights are just flashing red and blue. Nothing happens. I have unplugged it and even pressed the reset button. Nothing works. Does anyone have any advice? Thank you!

It sounds like a botched update.

How? You need to press install for it to update. Doesnt sound like he did an install
But I didn't even get a notification of an update. Anything I can do?

The 1st sign of update is a sudden reboot. When it starts up it attempts the 1st upgrade. Mine crashes and ends with picture of sideways android. But there is another upgrade popup as well which i just cancel (chose Later) as i donn want to risk my box being bricked as happened to several others on here. Happy with my current setup.

Do you have an SD card in your box?
Finally my LIT Box was updated to the latest firmware. The first update went on just fine, the second didn't happen. I had to call manufacturers of the BOX to assist me with second update. Everything is work fine. Netflix has been approved to work on the Telkom LIT BOX. ShowMax, DStv Now and YouTube all working well no issues. My advice is, call the manufacturers of the BOX for assistance with the updates, be patient, always choose the option of installing NOW rather than LATER. Thank You for coming to my TED Talk

Anyone battling with Netflix and DNS service since the update? get the proxy/unblocker message now :-(
I don't own the LIT device but on the Mi Box I had to rollback to a previous version of Netflix as a workaround to getting it to work with the Getflix DNS service.

When I updated to the latest version, version 8.2.36, I experienced so many problem, the lit box continuously freezes, I’m unable to use the mouse button on the remote and I’m unhappy with the user interface. Is there anyway to downgrade the software?

Does anybody know of some BT or WIFI remotes that can be used for this device? The IR remote is just finicky at times, and I don't want to use the phone app. Also, not keen on an air mouse that I have to fling around like a wand, just want to press buttons.
