Tnx I must check for thatNo idea about the remote. @Dolby mentioned at some point the boxes will come out with android 8 already loaded.

Thanks @Dolby much appreciatedNo ... the next week is only the separate remotes.
All the LIT boxes currently need the update from Android 7 > Android 8
The LIT boxes with these remotes and Android 8 as standard, are going to be (possibly) in the next month

Mine gave up a long time ago, replaced with wireless keyboard and mouse combo and works greatI really do hope that these new remotes will be better quality than the current one. The MiBox remote is a 1000 times better than the current Lit.
Pity we can't hack the Roku remotes to work on Android box. They really are great remotes, I might even say the best I've used.I really do hope that these new remotes will be better quality than the current one. The MiBox remote is a 1000 times better than the current Lit.
so i looked more into this (a06 device). as i like to have certain devices applied specific ip addresses on the internal network so i can ssh etc into them , i noticed that kodi was not piking up the device on my phone for kodi remote.how can i find out on the device whether it is connecting via wifi or ethernet on android 8?
edit - ok figured that out.
did the mac addresses change with the update?
That is an ipv4 address.so i looked more into this (a06 device). as i like to have certain devices applied specific ip addresses on the internal network so i can ssh etc into them , i noticed that kodi was not piking up the device on my phone for kodi remote.
when i took note of cetus i noticed the tv was now xxx.xxx.xxx.253 instead xxx.xxx.xxx.104.
so when i went in to network settings and restarted, i was satisfied that the device was ethernet.
but the mac adress now showed as fexx::xxxx:xxxx:xxxx:xxxx and ip adress xxxx.xxxx.xxxx.253
so is the device no longer serving ipv4 mac adresses or is there some setting i need to change?
Hey Dolby where do I watch for when the new LIT box is released? I went to the Telkom Shop to ask them to order the NEW version when it's out. She said to come back 3 weeks AFTER release and she will have one for me.No ... the next week is only the separate remotes.

Telkom staff more than likely have no idea about different versions or when they're arrivingI also can't really tell you because my visibility ends when they have stock in their own warehouse. If they take 2 weeks or 2 months to roll out to their stores, I can't tell - sorry!
But to be clear - the only difference between the new is :
a) It'll come standard with the voice remote above
b) It'll come standard with the Android 8.0
If you buy a current one (assuming not A06, which should be long gone by now) , the hardware is identical and you'll get the upgrade to Android 8 - it'll just be remote difference.
Any idea what the model number would be for this new device?Telkom staff more than likely have no idea about different versions or when they're arrivingI also can't really tell you because my visibility ends when they have stock in their own warehouse.
