Telkom LIT Android media box - Tips/Tricks/Apps thread

Hi All,
Our TVB 100 did a update, this after it has been with telkom for almosr 3 months, now all I get is a black screen and nothing else.
Power buttons dont work, nor will it do a factory reset.
I really dont feel like taking it back to telkom, is there software that I can install via usb to sort this out , or do I just toss it and buy another box?

Google Certified devices can only be updated by ota methods, no USB flashing.
Take it to Telkom, ask for your money back if possible and get a Mi Box S.

That's not true.

The LIT can be updated via OTG port with the right firmware and tools.

Try another TV if you have one. Could be that it needs to be set down to 720p if that is all your TV can do. You just need to use a 1080p TV for a few minutes to set that.
 
I have an issue my LIT box did an upgrade automatically and now has failed. what will the issue be? and how do I fix it? if is software related is it then possible since this unit has many adaptable sockets to plug it into a computer and do a scan and repair. please advise thanks

The resolution thing mentioned is possible ... seems to go wonky sometimes
 
I have picked up an issue after my LIT box did an update. I also don't feel to take it back to Telkom. So my question is why and how can this be repaired and if its software related

I understand . My TV resolution is above the specifications you mentioned but no success

Perhaps you'll find the program to flash ... but you're not going to get the proper firmware.

If near Centurion, maybe you can take it back to Nology ?

I'm trying to cast/view photos that are on my iPhone to the LIT box to view on the TV. I have Google Home on my phone (on iOS 12.1.2) and I've searched everywhere for a solution but can't find one. Do I need to export my photos to Google Photos to get this working?

Edit: NVM, Google Photos does the job

Went into the Bayside Telkom store today to see if I could get another LIT box and apparently they have been discontinued.

Anyone else been told this?

I've also been told the same thing at a few Joburg stores
 
I'm still having an issue with my Litbox freezing up when using the voice option. In fact, it's freezing up randomly even when I'm not using the voice remote option

Have you tried the Nology support ?

They're generally pretty cool

Latest FW etc ?
