hello,

Looks like Telkom's local peering hit a wobbly of sorts. International access still seems fine, but ping times have gone up and packet-loss has increased to all local sites over Telkom accounts based in Centurion:

Starting to recover though ... slowly. Any indication what the cause is/was?

Yeah they are having issues.

From Twitter:

@TelkomZa - We're currently experiencing service issues on mobile network. Apologies for the inconvenience. We're working on it & will keep you updated.

Latest Twitter update. More of the same. It's been 2 hours now since wife's data died.

Currently experiencing connectivity issues on mobile & fixed line services. Apologies for that, we're working on it & will keep you updated.

I'm currently getting 1.55Mb/s download on a 100Mb line in Centurion via Telkom. Afrihost is running at 95Mb/s

Affirmative. Wife received all my dirty jokes and sent me rolling eyes emoji so must be back to normal.
