Telkom lte apn weird issue and fix

Hi guys, I've got a fix to some weird speed and ping problems on telkom lte. im new to mybroadband so Im not sure if im posting this in the correct place so forgive me if I am, now to the issue. I live in durban and my lte service was acting weird for the past 2 weeks in which my speed and ping to all durban servers was perfect, but if I did a speedtest to say Johannesburg, cape town or anywhere other than durban my speed and ping would be all messed up at at random points of the day.

Speed test to mweb connect, durban
Download: 40mbps
Ping: 15ms

Speedtest to mweb connect, Johannesburg
Download: 2mbps
Ping: 100

Now for some reason changing my APN from the default telkom to unrestricted fixed this issue. I would recommend changing the apn even if you dont have this problem as it seems to fix some throttling issues

If you are using the huawei router supplied from telkom, it is under settings, dial up, profile management.

Profile name: Telkom1
Username: leave this box blanl
Password: also leave this blank
Apn: unrestricted

For android phones:
settings, mobile network, access point name, press the 3 dots on the top right of screen, new apn

I had this problem last night, the normal apn is slow with terrible ping until i switched to the unrestricted apn. Hopefully they sort it out soon.
 
Similar here, the Telkom APN was blocking all the ports used for my VPN service and for the life of me I couldn't get it fixed.

Changed the APN and everything connected, getting on average 56mbps compare to the lousy 13mbps before.

I tried the normal Telkom apn this weekend and its still bad.
 
I have B525 router tht went in for repairs and bought a B315 the Speed is supposed to be 10mbps but getting 4 mbps I have read what you comment on and change the Apn settings but Netflix is OK other apps it's steaming to 100%then says can't connect
