Telkom Mobile e-mail

Hello can you get from Telkom Mobile a e-mail address.

I'm currently have my e-mail with Afrihost.
I can get mail but cant send mail. ( I used the following smtp.uls.co.za)
When I use the above it works under the Test setting.
But creating a new e-mail id does not work.
Get error 0x800CCC13.

Use your Afrihost SMTP server. In the application SMTP settings use option:
- this server require authentication
- use the same login/password as for POP server

Yes, Telkom does provide an e-mail service. The format is yournumber(at)8tamail.com and you can customise the mailbox to stop using your own cell number.

That said, I wouldn't encourage anyone not to use a service provider's email service. Rather make that part independent and use Gmail, or any of the other big names out there.

The server respond:550 relay not permitted.

Hello all.

SMTP had to be changed to "smtp.saix.net".When I applied the fix I got this message. Testing worked fine. Not sending a new e-mail.
Then I received this message: Sending' reported error (0x800CCC13) : 'Cannot connect to the network. Verify your network connection or modem.'

I switched to win10. Could receive e-mail but could not send.

Run in Admin mode, at command prompt type the following: sfc /scannow

This solved my issue.
