I don't think a standard SIM works. It has to be a breakable micro SIM, you just don't break it.![]()
I actually gave it a bash and by mistake I put the micro simcard in the device fortunately it wasn't major issue to take the sim card out with no damage whatsoever. To my discovery I tried CELL C(standard 3G), Telkom Mobile (4G LTE) to be honest I don't notice any difference at all. Telkom use to be super fast back in the day got speeds of 3megs.
I was under the impression LTE was suppose to be something out of this world and unfortunately I give this product 1.
Connecting via WI-FI to the dashboard takes forever to respond unlike the MiFI which was responsive..
Lacks a new interface with Telkom Mobile logo etc![]()

What were your speeds?
1 PLMN: 65507
2 Service status: Valid service
3 RSCP (dBm): -80
4 ECIO (dB): -6
5 RSSI (dBm): -79
6 Roaming: No
Will post results a bit later on. using CELL C at the moment - my download speed with them now is roughly around 3 meg on 1 bar which is pathetic for an LTE device(which is suppose to have modern technology) on the MiFi I get full bars.
I don't notice a different between 3G & 4G(LTE) both are shown 1 bar same download speed. Tomorrow will test the device at Telkom branch as they have to offer support on this product+will test it at another allocation.

Are you forcing LTE when using the TM sim?
When the mode light is blue that's LTE, green is 3G.
Also are you using the antennas?

I have forced the LTE 4 G in the dashboard.
Yes, using both antennas supplied in the box.
On my Samsung S2/Ativ/S4 get full HSPDA bars with TM on this router 1 bar.
Tomorrow will go and do a swim swop and see if this resolves the matter at hand(8ta sim card from 3years ago) probably the new sim cards have better technology/memory

Without an antenna, i get 2 bars and have an ave dl rate of about 10Mbps. An ad-hoc mounting of the XPOL0006 i get between 10-20Mbps. I have to just properly mount this thing to get full signal. Will post results.
Have you tried without the antenna? The internal ones worked better (omnidirectional) than the external bunny ones.
The "bunny" ones, as you refer to them, are still omni's. I saw a minor improvement when I tested them myself.
Do you have proper LOS? On 2 bars signal, and without an antenna, I used to get up to 28Mbps down but the upload wasn't great.
Today I get a stable 35Mbps down and 7Mbps up with an XPOL-0002. It's a bit unsettling that there are no proper trends between us.
My own signal stats for comparison:
PLMN: 65502
Bandwidth(kHz): 20000
Cell ID: 174
Signal Strength: 5
RSRP(dBm): -82
RSRQ(dB): -6
Note: I don't see an RSSI value in my output table. /scratches head
