Going through the settings I noticed that the antenna was set to internal. I've set it to External 1 & 2 as I have the bunny ears added. I've also moved the router closer to a large window and to the other side of the house. This has little or no change. Did a speedtest now using laptop instead of mobile, just in case the mobile results are less trusted:

BTW, why is the upload speed so much faster than download? This seems odd but I'm new to LTE so not sure if this is the norm. On ADSL it has always been the opposite.

I'm on the Telkom 50+50gb package and so far only used just of 3gb of my cap.

Any advice much appreciated. Cheers

Your SINR level is extremely low-

Do you have the external Poynting Antenna?

If not, I suggest that you get one and mount if facing towards the tower in your area (you may need to go for a drive to find where it is) and then aim the antenna at it. My experience is, is that correct antenna alignment is critical to this product working!

I spent hour perfecting the antenna position by moving it, refreshing the router stats etc until they were as good as possible.

My router stats are:
RSRP: -71
SINR >30

Let me know if you need further help with this.

TELKOM? you need to do something about the LTE in My Area i get 150 Kilobytes download on LTE with a HUAWEI LTE only router i requested a LTE demo 2 years ago and i did many different tests with all different kinds of speedtests.

Can't complain, it's pretty up and down though. I'm still logging 100Mbps on my internet security appliance several times a day - I've yet to "time" it and get 100Mbps myself with Speedtest though.
 
Moved from Richards Bay to Kosmosdal..... 1 small tower that looks like a temporary installation by the looks of it serving such a big and highly densely populated area....

3Mbps max download and like 8Mbps upload.

Coming from 60Mbps+ in Richards bay I'm pretty disappointed. The estate has no fibre nor any copper lines so no adsl. Talk about moving backwards..... :mad:
 
Why'd you move? Go back to Richards Bay man!! That drop in performance must HURT?!! We all know how you were enjoying your LTE....

Yeah I moved because I got a better job here. Jobs are pretty limited in rbay. I was looking for flats with fibre but was almost impossible to fine and those that were options was way out of my budget.

Got to this estate very nice like it here decent price but no fibre or copper lines. Just LTE and WISP's.... Cellc LTE treating me well but not fast.
 
Fair enough. Got to go where the graft is. You might have to install Poynting external antenna, if you haven't already.

Haven't but the 2100MHz tower serving me is something else. As you can see not very high looks like a temporary tower that became permanent. Still have 7 spots left on the uncapped option on that tower. I won't be surprised if it's getting hammered because I know in my complex in the estate there are no telkom lines. So must be LTE ot wireless.
