Paying any price with zero data throughput is a premium with a speedtest like that i should be getting this for free
Just messing with you, agreed though, it does stink when you have signal and no traffic.Where I was only able to roam on MTN yesterday, it seems that the Vodacom tower got 'upgraded' today at our farmhouse. There's a new option when manually selecting networks. And it's working well. 65505 or TelkomSA-R. See attached screenshots.
65505 is Telkom PLMN ID so I don't think the Vodacom tower got upgraded I just think it started broadcasting Telkom's PLMN ID and even though it shows -R it still recognized as a "home" network meaning Telkom Only bundles should still work unless Telkom start disabling that like Cellc did with their Fixed LTE deals.

So connected to 65505 - seems to be a Vodacom tower from the tower ID. Loaded Telkom only bundle. Kept getting the OOB message. Also there seems to be no coverage from Vodacom towers where there is Telkom LTE coverage. So seems like it is going to be a nightmare if you select 65505 manually and then are on the move.
Can you test what works and what doesn't please?
Wish i could. It disappeared as soon as the phone switched to 4G.Can you test what works and what doesn't please?
