Telkom Mobile roaming on Vodacom

Your internet access has been paused because you are using out of Bundle Data. Dial *180# to purchase a new bundle, or open your browser for more options.

Above as soon as I select telkom-R - so there we have it Telkom only bundles will not work on Vodacom roaming.
We can manually choose? I thought we had no control over it. Makes sense though if we won't be able to use Telkom only bundles.

So perhaps if you set your phone to choose network automatically it may switch from Telkom to Vodacom roaming seamlessly. But if you manually select then you may run into issues. Uncapped does not work on roaming either.

"Forbidden"???

In the modern era of Customer Expereince who uses words like this? Why not "not available", FFS?

Cause it is technically available (with the right SIM), I guess they could have used "access denied" or "restricted" or "connection denied", or would those have triggered you as well?

No, just "forbidden" that gets me going. Must be all those years at a government boarding school.

So from April 1st my signal to 65502 went from 40+Mbps to 6 Mbps. And the 65505 signal gives me "Your internet has been paused". This is all on the 1800Mhz frequency. 65502 RSPR from 89 to 113 and 65505 RSPR is 81

Seems like they turned of your closest Telkom tower on 1800mhz. If you choose 2300mhz you should just get Telkom.

Thanks, will have to see tonight. Im using the Telkom supplied B315 and a Rain B618-22d.

*edit* I went to change the bands on 65502. The speed seem to remain the same between 1800Mhz and 2300Mhz. After maneuvering the antenna the speed went up to 16Mbps. The signal however does not get better then RSPR 107

I am able to manually select to roam on Vodacom but only 3G is currently available for me. Telkom on-net bundles don't work.

oddly 65505 on my huawei doesnt show the "-R".. but my data works on it and it sure is fast

Any loopholes that worked on MTN will be closed by Vodacom

This is Vodacom we dealing with, Jannie will make sure of it

So yesterday, we lost all Vodacom service in our area.
When it returned this morning 65505 showed up.
Then Vodacom went down again at lunch time, when it came back, no 65505 was showing in scans.
Seems they are having trouble with this roaming thing.

Since you guys first reported 65505 I have been scanning non stop and did not see it once. So either my S10 does not show 65505 or it identifies as Telkom and it falls under than name so the phone doesn't show it.

Has Anyone been able to test whether Telkom's fixed LTE Sim's will benefit from Vodacom Roaming?

@cavedog I have only been able to see it when traveling through rural areas, maybe they haven't activated it in cities yet or perhaps its only active in places where Telkom has no coverage?

I also get that 65505 - 3G - (Available)

We have no vodacom service here what so ever since Sunday, 'no service' error.
But 65505 3G showing up.
This roaming agreement should show 2G/3G/4G.
Seems they can't get it right.
It is knocking vodacom offline when they try implementing the roaming configuration on base stations, by the looks of things.
