Telkom failed me on 3 occasions.
The First:
About a year I got myself a Telkom 5GB LIT contract which came with a Huawei P10 Lite.
What I was told I would get:
Free Unlimited Instant Messaging/IM (Whatsapp, Viber etc).
Unlimited Video and Music Streaming
I loved it! Sounded great for the price.
After having the contract for 2 months I got an invoice that almost doubled the agreed installment; I had been charged for a service I didn't subscribe to, 5gb out of bundle rates. Spending 6-8 months query this with their Call Centre, Telkom Store(where I signed the contract), HelloPeter and Twitter I finally decided to take it further to NCC -- Telkom kept promising to get back to me but nothing.
Within a matter of 2 weeks, my problem was resolved. The sad thing is that not many people know where to go to once such things happen.
The Second:
I had used IM for free, not worrying about data for about 5 months after signing my contract then suddenly my messages stopped sending nor was I was receiving anything. I called in to find out what had happened, they told me that I only had a certain amount of data allocated which raised eyebrows as first things first: no communication was given and second: this wasn't what was initially agreed and advertised.
The Third:
I spend time streaming YouTube, DSTV Now and Netflix. After noticing that my data of 5GB which should not be used when streaming or using IM was getting depleted I decided to monitor my usage. The same thing happened the following month; I took action by calling the call centre to find out what was happening. I was told that the watching videos above 360p would use up my 5gb data which I found to be nonsense as there had been times when I didn't have data and was still able to watch 720p videos.
Again the above was not mentioned when taking up the contract therefore my question is this ethical and am I missing something?
