After a year of extremely hard work I decided its time to spoil myself. I'm getting uncapped ADSL :D . I mostly want the freedom of not worrying about a huge bill at the end of he month, thus I only need a 1meg line, can you experts advise which ISP offers best service, thanks.

Mweb, because if you look closer on Telskums site, they advertise the lekker throttling that they do to your line for 3/4's of the day :)

I need to mention I don't have a landline yet, must still get it installed, if that makes any difference.

mweb without any doubt. love them or hate them, they deliver what you pay for - uncapped internet. the 1mb offering is the best value for money and @ R199 a steal.

Speaking of unsustainable entities. I wonder whether the DoC is going to name new board members for Telkom before or after the little picnic in the Free State later this year.

I think TI probably is able to offer the best quality (particularly in consistency) uncapped internet but definitely not the best value for money.I think MWeb have fallen off both horses so for me the real question should be Afrihost or TI Uncapped where value/speed/consistency is your thing. Also Afrihost kicks TI on the coolness factor.

OT, but an immediate naming could result in more changes post BloemParty.

Thanks for all the replies guys. Now to get the line itself am I correct in assuming I need to ask Telkom for a Closer 1 package to get the free installation?

Either, in my experience.

Personally, I'd say MWEB, due to their presence on this forum, and their stellar customer interaction and service.
