I'm connected to the La Lucia exchange.

I'd rather have my stable 2mb on ADSL2+ and keep quiet about it. Everyone else in my area has ADSL that barely works.

adsl_g.dmt vs adsl2+

what is the difference?

and how to i get it to adsl2?

G.dmt on Telkom lines only does 8 meg at most but Adsl 2+ goes to 20 meg and the chances of getting higher than 4 on g.dmt is very low sadly.

Only way to get Adsl 2+ is if they are feeling kind and upgrade your old umc box your line connects to.

Hi Guys

I am getting 6 Mbps then why would my checker show 10 Mbps.
Phone Telkomsa and they said my profile needs to change and she can not change it, the Technician will change it.. Is this true ?
My Router was off for the first couple of days and maybe they could not do the Profile change. She says my profile is 6 Mbps

So on a 4 mbps line, if changed to adsl+ on the router setting. Will it make a difference in average speed? I haven't a clue about these stuff

Not really it will probably make your line stats worse so better to stay on g.dmt unless you get 10 megs.

Cause your ISP account is up to 10 megs which shows up as 10 since theres no 6 meg package.

+1 to that, i'm still not sure if my issues are line related or exchange related :(

Just called Telkom, Option 1 --> then Option 2, waited for about 5 minutes and a very friendly lady answered, all I asked her was the following - " Can you please do a ADSL profile reset as my line is showing 4Mbps on your website but the router only displays 2Mbps", she then told me to wait a minute and when I refreshed my router page it was "4Mbps".

Guess I am also one of the lucky ones. :D
