I'm not sure but judging from what is being said in this thread, I think you have to have a profile reset! Is it critical that your router is off whilst performing a profile reset? ( I'm at work)
Keno said:Dont ask for a port reset , rather ask the Telkom jockey to do a re-sync.
Better still PM TelkomZa, surefire way, dont forget to thank him, he is doing fantastic work for us.
Waited in line for 20 minutes, asked to update my profile and reset port and the tech straight out refuses (he really got his panties in a bunch). I tell him that there have been quite a number of people that have been doing this and he then says he is putting me through to the activations department. I hung up because I thought I would probably just be sent from one department to the next ( with a 20 minute wait between each department).
You spoke to a techie at the call centre ???
2Mb and 4Mb lines have the same upload speed, 512Kbps. Only from 10Mb does it jump to 1024Kbps.
Aah .. OK, thanks. I didn't know that. So I guess that as I average around 420 Kbps upload, i.e. 82% the highest possible I should happy.
Just got upgraded!
Last Result:
Download Speed: 1750 kbps (218.8 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 413 kbps (51.6 KB/sec transfer rate)
Latency: 75 ms
25/11/2013 10:31:51
SNR Down: 33.8dB
SNR Up: 16dB
ATTN Down: 20.6dB
ATTN Up: 12.5dB
I'm still however on a 1Mb/s doBasic uncapped package but I'm seeing 2Mb/s download speeds. Dunno if I should wait or get this sorted as the women at the call center is not certain either.
If I am able to receive these speeds without upgrading the account then I am happy.
Those account will fall away, they should be upgraded automatically at some point or you should just ask for the upgrade.
If it's still like that in a few days time I will call them again. I'm not gonna hit the cap this month anyway, still way in the green @100GB usage.
It seems some stuff dont understand the difference between a port reset and a dsl re-sync..Phoned Telkom, after a 30min hold a friendly lady did the re-sync for me and now my line going at 2mb(dont ask for a port reset)
