Telkom Speed upgrades

I'm not sure but judging from what is being said in this thread, I think you have to have a profile reset! Is it critical that your router is off whilst performing a profile reset? ( I'm at work)

Dont ask for a port reset , rather ask the Telkom jockey to do a re-sync.
Better still PM TelkomZa, surefire way,dont forget to thank him, he is doing fantastic work for us.:D
 
My ADSL is working again, somehow fixed yesterday...

So, where do I request for a profile reset to up my speed? ADSL checker says Im on 4Mb now (but Im still syncing on 2Mb).

Waited in line for 20 minutes, asked to update my profile and reset port and the tech straight out refuses (he really got his panties in a bunch). I tell him that there have been quite a number of people that have been doing this and he then says he is putting me through to the activations department. I hung up because I thought I would probably just be sent from one department to the next ( with a 20 minute wait between each department).

Haha, well no. Tech slipped into my mind because of the reason the call centre staff member gave me (techs are still busy with the upgrades so he can't update my profile)

Upload Speed: 413 kbps (51.6 KB/sec transfer rate)
Latency: 75 ms

I have the same question.
I seem to be on a 4mb line but still on a 2mb account.
Receiving full line speed but not the data cap.
If I am able to receive these speeds without upgrading the account then I am happy.

Those account will fall away, they should be upgraded automatically at some point or you should just ask for the upgrade.

If it's still like that in a few days time I will call them again. I'm not gonna hit the cap this month anyway, still way in the green @100GB usage.

I was upgraded on Friday from 2 to 4mb, but yesterday I was getting speeds of about 0.6mb -I'm not throttled and got the same results on another ISP account - problem not ISP related then. could it be exchange congestion? What can I look out for?
I was on 2mb before and up until 3 weeks ago it would fly, but recently I get half speed and then later on it's back to full speed.
I'm less that 1km from the exchange.

I seem to be ok from a cap standpoint because I'm already on a 2mb account but with 4mb speeds.
I can do another 100gb safely this month which should be fine with daily streaming.
350gb a month is ok for me.
If I upgrade the account for more data it would just mean a higher cost for the same data used.
 
Phoned Telkom, after a 30min hold a friendly lady did the re-sync for me and now my line going at 2mb:D (dont ask for a port reset)

It seems some stuff dont understand the difference between a port reset and a dsl re-sync..

Tried again and got upgraded.
