Sorry if this is a newbish question but I am trying to understand something:
I have been on the phone with Telkom for the better half of this afternoon but they don't seem to have their best day today in customer service:
I am on a 4MB line and have been on this since about a long time. It is my understanding that 4MB lines have been upgraded to 10MB lines. When asking Telkom about this it boils down to that whilst my exchange has apparently been upgraded, my house is too far away from the exchange itself so it will not be upgraded to 10MB.
Basically this means that I am stuck on a 4MB line for the foreseeable long-term future or is there any other work around you guys can suggest in order to receive respectable speeds? Any help is appreciated.
This is what I receive from the ADSL checker:
Service Available
Maximum speed available in your area 4 Mbps
Your Current Service speed 10 Mbps
