Telkom Speed upgrades

I sent TelkomZA a PM for an upgrade 2-4meg Last week 27 Nov got reply this Morning.


HI
I have changed your profile and line speed to the max of 4 megs.
The mini dslam you are connected too only support up to 4 megs
You may downgrade to 2 megs if so desired and you will pay less, also need to take note, if you downgrade to 2 megs , the isp package has to be done as well

I have the reverse problem... my line is syncing at 4Mbps, buy the online ADSL Check shows my line as 2Mbps!
 
I see now I should only pay R395 for my do bundle will need to check if my bill reflects that or if it is charging me for 10 megs my umc can't give which is R554.
 
Used ADSL checker to see if my line was upgraded from 1 to 2meg, it was.
Phoned Cybersmart since my line and account is through them.
Upgraded to 2meg in under 5min.
Seems like 1meg lines have been upgraded in Hout Bay Cape Town already.
 
My mini dslam is apparently max 4 Mbps. So am I stuffed if I want 10 Mbps ? Is it possible to have that upgraded, or moved to a dslam that supports a higher speed ? If so, how do you go about doing that ? I noticed that about 30 meters away from the mini dslam is one of the light grey cabinets, newly installed by Telkom. Any ideas guys ?
 
Telkomza bumped my buddy also up to 2meg after I pm his number to him.

Still paying for a 10Mbps but the exhange does not support 10Mbps........ My neigbour pays way less than me for the same thing..... Telkom really failed these upgrades.... Billing is a nightmare with so many people paying for something they don't get

Get yourself a fibre cable and connect directly. Pretend you're from DFA :D

The guys updating Telkom ADSL Line check on crack or what?

Yesterday the people next door - Profile =2MB & Exchange supports 1MB
Today people next door - Profile =2MB & Exchange supports 10MB


Yesterday the mine - Profile =10MB & Exchange supports 4MB
Today people miner - Profile =10MB & Exchange supports 4MB


WTF I want 10MB too long now and still sittings with cr@ppy 4MB
 
Big thanks to TelkomZA on the forums for upgrading my 1MB to 2MB. Great to have someone here on the forums to help us out.

Agree, also still on 4Meg but paying for a 10Meg. Exchange only supports 4Meg. Contacted Telkom earlier today and that was like walking into a brick wall so just left it. Line is being cut next week in any case. Guess I will never see a credit for that either.
 
Was upgraded to 2mb from 1mb about 3 weeks ago. So now i see i have been bumped to 4mb yesterday.:erm: Never asked to be bumped to 4mb.
